New stat was defective.
This stat did not work for my Chevy Express van. It still ran hot after installing it. Its no fun taking the parts off and putting them back together, only to find new part defective. I will be returning it for a refund.

Easy install
I’ve never installed a thermostat before, this was easy. The local auto parts store wanted over a $100 for a thermostat and housing for my 2006 Silverado, so I bought one online for $18. Draining and flushing the coolant system took the most time. Removing and installing the new thermostat took about 20 minutes. I didn’t remove the belts just used a piece of aluminum foil under the old housing and routed the old antifreeze to a bucket. The new thermostat opens at about 195 degrees. Works perfect! One less thing.
