Exactly what I was looking for
I wanted a vibrant purple hair color that was inexpensive, semi-permanent, and wouldn’t be difficult to remove when I wanted to go back to brown. This color depositing mask was perfect. I relied a LOT on reviews when deciding what to use, so I will pay that back by being extremely specific with what I did. I washed (just shampoo, no conditioner) and dried my hair, put Vaseline around my hairline, used gloves to apply 1 and 1/4 tubs of product to coat all my (long) hair section by section, waited 20 minutes, and then rinsed it out with warm water. Then I used the Ion color defense after-color sealer (also from Amazon) and rinsed that with cold water. After that, I only washed my hair with cold water (and only every few days) and as you can see from the pictures it came out really vibrant and lasted a REALLY long time. I thought it would wash out after 2 weeks but it’s been almost a month and I only just had to touch up the color with the Ovtertone color conditioner in Royal Plum yesterday because it was starting to fade. It did stain my shower and any white towels I had so make sure to use black towels and be prepared to deal with a purple shower. My hands/hairbrush/clothing necklines also would get some dye transferred onto them but as I washed my hair more this happened less. Does not happen at all with the color conditioner even though I just applied that yesterday. I also used a bonnet to avoid transfer onto my pillowcases but that’s not necessary anymore. The mask smells good and left my hair very soft. Super happy with this purchase, it was exactly what I wanted. However, if your hair is super dark, this probably wont show up. As you can see from the pics, the purple only really stuck to the pieces of my hair that were highlighted. The unbleached dark parts of my hair picked up a bit of a purple tone at first (much more visible in the sun) but that was gone after only a couple washes. Unless you have highlights or your hair is a medium brown or lighter, this probably wont show up very well. Before and after pics + pics after each wash attached

Excellent Colors, Easy to Use, Quick Fade but little Damage
Overtone never disappoints. I love this product and have been using it for years. Initially when starting there will be some trial and error in usage but you adapt to it. I usually use some vaseline around the hairline, wear think latex/plastic gloves, and an old shirt. I think the one struggle with overtone is that it is very thick so sometimes I drop a bit after putting it in my hair - but I'm not professional, I'm taking globs in my hands and rubbing it through best I can. I just don't have the patience for the little brushes and doing each strand etc. But despite that it always turns out beautifully and I get compliments. My hair never feels damaged afterwards, at least nothing that a bit of conditioner can't fix. The initial color does fade pretty fast, in fact I prefer the look after 2-3 washes, but then the color lingers in your hair for months. Usually this means I have to color over it with another more "natural" color if I want it to look good. Like blue eventually becomes greenish gray in my dark blond hair. Purple looks better even months later.

Twighlight Titanium is not Extreme Silver
TWIGHLIGHT TITANIUM IS NOT EXTREME SILVER - IT IS A DIFFERENT PRODUCT I have used Overtone Extreme Silver for several years. LOVED the product, the color and the wonderful mint smell. Also, loved the vegan and ethical approach of the privately owned company, and the story of the founders - 2 girls in their 20s building a company out of sheer gusto and ingenuity - so I stocked up on the product to support their vision. When my supplies started to dwindle I tried to purchase more but couldn't find it online. Then, I started getting bombarded with messages and videos on social media stating it was renamed " Twighlight Titanium". (Meaning the company is clearly buying personal information). I decided to purchase 2 batches (at a notably higher price than Extreme Silver) because my supply of Extreme Silver was running short. When I received the Twighlight Titanium I still had some Extreme Silver left, so decided to use that on one side of my head then add the Twighlight Titanium on to the other side. Hey, same product, right? BIG MISTAKE. Extreme Silver is purple in the jar, smells like mint and makes my hair shiny and soft. Twighlight Titanium is dark blue in the jar, smells like moldy bread, and left my hair dull and dry. My scalp was very itchy after use. It acts like a toner, there was no color change, just dulled and dried my hair. The label is so tiny I had to get a magnifier to read the ingredients. Guess what - harsh chemicals are now included. I decided to check the company to find out why the vegan, ethical stance changed. And you guessed it- PRIVATE EQUITY took over. 2 tech bros got involved, deposed the founders and put a not-for-profit (a.k.a tax dodging) guru in as the new President. Like so many great start-ups and family owned companies running ethical, profitable businesses, Private Equity has ruined Overtone. Why pretend the products are the same? Why pretend they are vegan and chemical free? Deceptive advertising is not going to earn you repeat customers. I might have been tempted to purchase if you had been honest about discontinuing a line and advising the ingredients now include some chemicals. Saying the two are the same is such a typical Private Equity lie.

Excellent quality and works on dark colored hair
I naturally have dark hair and I was skeptical about the color working but it absolutely did. This product is amazing. I am not sure how Overtone does it but the color is beautiful and the conditioner itself leaves my hair feeling silky smooth. I got two uses out of this size and the color lasts for about a month. It smells like peppermint and feels refreshing. Super easy to use, just put it in your hair like regular conditioner. High quality product!

Blue Covered my Grays!
I had to stop dying my greys which are mostly around my face and about 30% of my hair. But after 5 months I couldn't take the orange-ish line of demarcation that was developing. After MUCH research I gave this a try. It works and I love it, but here are some important things to know. 1) My natural hair is dark brown. I had been coloring it a medium brown. I left this on for 2 hours (after a 1 hr. strand test didn'tcover the grey at the top. I know they say only 15 mins, but I don't care and since it's a conditioner it really can't hurt your hair if you are willing to devote the time.) It came out really blue on my greys, but even though I went light on the application on the ends of my hair, it made the rest of my hair a very dark brown (close to black). But, it banished the orange tones! This may be due to the fact that while I hadn't bleached my hair, most of it was previously processed. So, naturally dark brown-haired folks will likely see no blue with this Extreme Blue color. Smells great and left my hair feeling softer and less frizzy than I have seen since I started to grey a decade ago! I included a before and after pic from my first use. 2) This is MESSY, thick stuff! I used the full 2oz trial size my first time out and even though I am a practiced home colorist I still had a few places where it didn't seem to take. Subsequent applications with slightly less product but a more carefully combed-through approach proved better. It is a learning curve. Use petroleum jelly on all your neighboring skin. Cover your bathroom surfaces. Use dark towels. And keep that colox-based bathroom spray near by to address staining ASAP. (If you wait more than 30 minutesit will not come out easily, if at all). I keep it in great shower now to deal with using the conditioner which is equally staining. I have crazy hot flashes and night sweats, but I haven't had an issue with this getting on my sheets. 3) It washes out quicker than you want! And if your shampoo has any sulfates in it, you might as well pour your money down the drain. The corresponding conditioner really helps the fading! Don't skimp and not order it. But it, too, is a thick mess and makes me consider using gloves in the shower. I now use the overtone conditioner around my face where I have the most greys and regular conditioner on the bottom half of my hair and let both sit for 5 mins while I do other shower business. I got a shower cap to avoid washing my hair every time I shower (and to use when applying the coloring).

Expensive and just not worth it to me.
Great in theory but does not turn out as pictures and descriptions describe. I bought the dark brown hoping to extend the need to fully color my roots. I attempted 3 times. The first time I left the product on for the suggested time and it left me with a very light color and horrible hot spots. Next I left on for 10 minutes longer. It gave more color pay (still not a dark brown, more of a medium brown) off but still hot spots. Next attempt I left the product on 20 minutes longer than advised and I ended with a red brown color. It never went to a true dark brown and leans towards red. Because I have very dark brown hair, the color and tone it deposited wasn’t even close and I had to immediately recolor with my normal permanent color which I should have just done to begin with! There is no mixing with this product which saves time but in the long run, it took much more time after multiple applications and then having to mix my professional permanent color and do a full color on my roots. Thankfully that covered any color pay off from the semi permanent color I purchased. This may work for someone with lighter hair color that doesn’t have any warm tones. I will save my money next time and forgo a semi permanent color. It did take a very large amount of product to cover just my roots and wasn’t ver easy to spread evenly therefore I couldn’t see someone getting more than two uses. I had to use two for 3 applications on normal thickness hair. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone with brown or black hair for sure but maybe a blonde. I didn’t notice any horrible smell but It does stain so be careful and don’t let it dry on your sink, shower walls, tiles or grout. If you do, scrub immediately!

So glad I bought this
I knew I would be pleased with this purchase because my sister has been using it for a while and I knew what to expect. Have been letting my grey/white grow out for a year. The semi-permanent color covered my grey/white and toned down my old blonde ends. I know the color will eventually disappear so I will just apply it again as that happens. Oh and my hair feels soft which is a bonus.

So happy I found overtone
So happy I found overtone. I stated by doing the hair test, all was good. Then I only did a test for how long to leave it on doth side using a small amount of hair through a shower cap. One side I left on for the 15 to 20 minutes, that did not do any change to my hair. On the other side I left it in for 35 minutes, and I could see a change in color. I waited a day and did my whole head of hair for 40 to 45 minutes, I saw a nice overall coverage to my hair. I used twilight titanium to bring some cover to my white and gray hair. The product does have a smell I found I did not like. I waited until the next day I shampoo my hair very well. Followed with a rinse using 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a 8 oz cup of water. Than I rinsed to out wth cool water. After the smell was way less. I like that it is a conditioner, left my hair shiny and feels good. The top left picture is the after picture. This even out the orange ends too.
