Great Bang for the Buck
My 1990 FLSTC sat neglected for most of its life. It was always too much hassle to ride. If it wasn't the battery, it was the carburetor. Over the years, I would occasionally purchase a rebuild kit, clean the jets, replace the float valve and go for a ride. A short time later, it would struggle to start and I'd run down the battery down. The cover, would go back on, I'd kick a few rocks, and remember the old days. Recently, I needed to find a cheaper commuter than my 2004 Suburban. I purchased nearly $100 in parts for my stock carb, but kept chasing new problems. Investing $400-800 in a named brand carb wasn't in the plan. However, I found this KIPA which was priced near what I had paid for parts to refurbish the old one, and rolled the dice. Installation went very smooth. Anyone who has had to mess with their stock carb can find their way around this one. This little Mikuni knock-off breathed new life into a 30-year-bike and 51-year-old man. If you are more budget minded than cool, this is the carb for you. My bike runs better than I can remember and has a solid throttle response. Best of all, it starts with a single push.

Good, once you sort it out.
Carb works great, but I suggest you dismantle it and check it all out. On mine, the rubber washers on the slide were kinked and created a loud whistle at idle and low rpm. Floats were almost a half inch off. Burrs on slide as well that may have contributed to the whistle. Asked the vendor for some direction before I tore it apart and they simple said, "it is the bike's fault". I am pretty sure they are clueless on how things work and just order them from China and sell them. Keep that in mind and all will be good.

Junk
Accelerator pump doesn't work, the carb had a screw removed from the top and it looked like a return from someone else. The accelerator pump chamber looks like it was machined by hand using a hammer and chisel.

Keep looking, don’t buy this.
Very unhappy, very poor manufacturing. The accelerator pump does not work it’s a bad manufacturing mold.I requested a replacement and still had same issue. This is what happens when you try a cheap mikuni Knock off
