Rice-A-Roni Heat Eat Rice Garlic Olive Oil Pouch, 8.8 Ounce-Have a pretty good taste. These are simple to prepare, simply microwave and you're good to go. I found the portion to be quite a lot, you might have leftovers. The taste for me was a little heavy on the garlic, but that's probably just me. Overall, a simple solution for a quick meal. Good value too. I also like that these are shelf stable. Recommend.

For a precooked packed rice it taste good. Super easy to prepare, just open & pop in microwave for 90secs. I mix in cooked veggies & sauteed mushrooms.

The rice is great in terms of convenience, but I noticed it doesn't taste that good by itself. What really enhances the flavor of the rice is mixing it into a variety of dishes. I love mixing it with caramelized onions and ground beef for a quick and easy meal. You'll hardly tell it's microwaved rice.

This has been a staple in my pantry being I love alone, I only really use the microwave if I can help it because I actually have narcolepsy and have fallen asleep, or forgotten when waiting for things to heat up, like boiling water or preheating or even cooking something in the oven. The convenience and speed these pouches offer really helps me get a quick bite to eat for the day.But, as I am moving from vegetarian to vegan, I am making it extremely hard on myself because they add milk, eggs or butter to EVERYTHING! It's frustrating and totally unnecessary.....for RICE that has garlic and olive oil as it's flavoring, it doesn't need to have lactose added. That has been the most difficult thing about trying to avoid dairy products. Going vegetarian was very simple. This, what I thought was going to be a small step over a thin line, has made my life extremely difficult with all the additives they put into simple things such as this rice. I can't eat any of their products unless it's plain white rice (which isn't offered in a pouch by this brand but I found some like it).If anyone is working to avoid using animal products with the impact the meat and dairy industry have on the planet and how absolutely cruel and terrible the animals are treated their entire lives, just REALLY read the ingredients and know what to look for. As a former nurse who had dietary training I understand a lot of what the ingredients say but boy have they gotten sneaky. I was so happy to still have thus rice and then I looked at the pouch as I was eating it. I like it out of the pouch because it stays piping hot. It cools down so fast when you pour it out.Oh and one thing I did find helpful was to fold the opened pouch over when I cooked it because the rice will pop and sometimes leave little pieces in the microwave. I also added (vegan) butter to mine which really helped the rice plump up and made it so delicious. And if you stir it and then keep the top closed to let it steam itself for another 60 seconds afterwards it really helps to move the heat around and get to all the little rice kernels (kernels?)Yeah. So I just wanted to add that little bit and those ideas to make it even better than it already is. It really is good rice. I'm disappointed to have to give up yet another food product that has added lactose of all things (with so many lactose intolerant people that's so crazy to me because it's RICE!)But for everyone else, enjoy! If the listing price is over $2 than you're not getting it from the right distributor. I've seen $56 which I'm sure means you're buying a huge case of these. So buyer beware. Look for Amazon Prime or Amazon Fresh.

Gave them a try, not for me. Gave them to a friend of mine, they love them. Easy to cook, smells good, value for the money.. according to her.

This rice took me by surprise! Its so flavorful and PERFECTLY COOKED! Never have i had rice that almost melted in your mouth, i love it!

I was totally surprised when I saw instant rice-a-roni flavored rice that you could microwave. For my living situation this was perfect to add to a quick meal. And the flavor is good.
