Tearing through these!
If you’re looking for a fun, action packed, urban fantasy series with a strong female lead. I highly recommend these. I have read the first 3 books in about a week. They are fast paced, easy to read, and hard to put down!Highly recommend!

Absolutely
Absolutely a great read. A large community finally finding a way to build bridges and come together. Sometimes it takes a threat for folk to figure out working together is far better then working alone. There one or two things I hope the author tells us about but. At the end of the day a fantastic series to read!!!

Fantastic
*****Spoilers*****We get to see Erin's ambition in this book which was a joy for me, especially since she can go to school for what she really wanted to do instead of what she can afford. Her love life isn't really picking up but after the disaster that was Trevor, it's a good thing she wasn't too invested. Still, I was puzzled by how quickly things were over between them and they both seemed to move on.Heine was both a surprise and a solution, thankfully. I was worried he'd continue to crop up in Erin's life as a scare tactic, her constantly looking over her shoulder. The other Hunters that escaped may be a problem but they're much less scary and life limiting. The new council in town could use Erin much more than what she's given of herself, the tuition the least they could do for her.Despite being out of her element, Erin has managed to make friends and build something for herself. Hopefully things continue to go well for her, she understands her worth, and someone starts paying her for her time.

Leaves room for more
In the third installment of Erin's post Illuminati life, more Hunters have shown up in Westport. With the help of her friends, Erin embarks on solving the mystery of the visitors. Are they setting up a new camp? Are they after the infamous Scorpion? New alliances occur as well as new growth and development for Erin. What I did like was the action, the journey of Erin's new life of putting down roots and the humor. What I didn't like was the confusion of names and characters that made it difficult for the reader to follow along. For example, Roisin popped up in a scene without the reader being told who she was. Instances like this made me want to reread the previous books and make notes about who was who. That may be a picky dislike but a few other editing issues and hard to follow scene changes cause me to only give four stars.I felt this story was perhaps written in a rush and Erin's internal struggles could have been developed more deeply. I love these characters and the world this author has created. I think there is much potential to keep the series going and I hope it does. I enjoyed this series much more than this author's previous works.

An excellent and complete 3 book series, with room to grow!
Full of interesting characters and a story that isn't a bland rehash of everything else out there, the entire series pulled me in and kept me there. The story is complete, with an "ending" that was both satisfying and yet interested in what's next. On the "technical" end of things, it was wonderful to not get jolted out of the story by horrendous word crimes, total misuse of punctuation, and a complete disregard for how to even put together a coherent paragraph! I have given up on several books in just the last few months because I was so distracted by the shear multitude of typos and disregard for basic writing conventions, I couldn't follow the story. (I startled my husband just a couple weeks ago by shouting at my Kindle, "Pick a narrative!!!! First person! Third person! One or the other! AND STOP CHANGING POV EVERY OTHER PARAGRAPH!" ...it was a touch embarrassing.) There was none of that here. My one complaint was the slightly choppy nature of this last book. There were fairly frequent "jumps" in the narrative that had me going back several times because I thought I had skipped a page. If I had been listening on an audio book rather than reading it, I could have become lost and confused rather easily.

good read
fast paced. entertaining. This series is not `deep' but is written to be fun. Author provides plenty of background. I am old, spent 20 yrs in Navy and still really appreciate that the foul language is kept to a minimum in favor of real words and descriptive text. When every other word is f--- it says the author isn't smart enough to write without it and thinks the reader is just as stupid. Thanks

More Fun in Westport
As always, BR Kingsolver has written a creative and entertaining read. The third book in this urban fantasy series continues the story established in the first two books.Erin is still working at Rosie O’Grady’s Paranormal Bar and Grill as a bartender and is happier than she thought possible. For the first time in her life she has friends and she is helping people rather than killing them. She is looking for love, but as yet hasn’t found it, but in the meantime she has her friends and that’s more than she’s ever had before. There seems to be a problem still in Westport, with young people going missing and vampires causing trouble. There also seems to be a distinctly alarming number of Hunters in town, leaving Erin panicking about what or who they want. However, she has friends in various parts of the paranormal community who she can ask for help or information. She’s no longer alone in facing off against her old organisation, and that makes them slightly less scary.Erin is an interesting character who is at once naive and very very worldly wise. She has lived through real trauma during her training and also been kept very isolated. This leads to an interesting dichotomy in her character. With this third book she is more educated in the ways of ‘normal’ people and has learnt how to trust others. This book shows how all the hard work, she’s put in over the previous books to understand her new reality, has paid off.I also really enjoy reading about the paranormal community in Westport. The characters written to surround Erin are entertaining and well thought out. Erin’s friends are written to be well rounded, consistent and they are fully fleshed out.The writing in this book is as good as always. The standard of story telling employed by this author is very high and I enjoy reading her books tremendously. Whenever a new book comes out I try and read it within the first week. This book is another example of why I will continue to do so.

The World created is getting more tempting every instalment.
There I was looking for an easy read in hospital when I purchase the first book Shadow Hunter, now book 3 finished and book 4 is downloaded. These tales of Erin’s life keep going deeper and deeper but in all the hell that is let loose Erin reinforces that happiness that we all crave from friend and family - even the adopted family. All too often we loose sight of our loved ones and what they add to our lives. Take five minutes out of your day and think what you have received and what you have given. Life is precious value it and pass your love to family, friends and the person in the street we all need that extra bit of acceptance we are alive.

Great ending
This wide and husband team produce some of the best stories I've read in a long time. The stories where split into.three books all.follow the same format. The first book sets the scene and introduces train characters. The second tells the main body of the story and the third ties it all up together very skilfully leading to a well thought out conclusion, not leaving the reader wanting more but leaving it open for further episodes if the authors so chose. I'm looking forward to the next series of books.

So good!
Great series! I had a very hard time putting it down. Erin had a hard life but never let that slow her down or seemed at all . She seemed pretty believable for a fantasy character. I really appreciate the author’s heroines, because they are always a bit flawed, and even though the are smart and strong they aren’t the smartest and strongest person around who can never be wrong. I hope there is more to this series but if there’s not, I’m satisfied with how it ended. It would be cool to see more in this world and of the other characters from the books, even if we don’t get more stories focused on Erin.
