Meh, it's worth it.... if you plan on being outdoors for a long time without any electricity. And by long time I mean in terms of weeks, if not months. otherwise you can get a much more durable outdoor backpack with a big backup battery which will last you much better than this setup. The solar panel works, sure, but it is far from the "forget and let it charge on its own" you're probably thinking of. Please, just get a big backup battery, just search "external laptop battery" or "external battery" for some seriously high-capacity external batteries.

The solar panel is nice to have to charge my cell phone when no electricity is around. The panel must be in direct sunlight to get the most charging power. The backpack pockets are kind of tight and the main compartment where a laptop can be stored does not open completely, but otherwise a good product.

Overrated, very poor build quality
I was excited to get this backpack for my boyfriend for our Africa camping trip. The backpack had a nice design and he loved it at first. The problem was the cheap build quality. The seams came loose in three different places and the buckle of one of the straps just broke completely after 2 months use. While it seems like a great idea and it looks nice, it feel apart WAY to easy. Super cheaply built. Save your money!!!

Great day pack
I use this backpack pretty much every day for work purposes and it has held up great. It's very comfortable and I love the area on the left strap to which I can clip my key carabiner. $100 for this bag is a pretty good price point. My battery has gotten a little wonky of late, but that's likely user error and not handling it a little ruggedly.

Solar Powered Backpack
This backpack was much smaller than I thought it would be, although it does everything it claims. For the cost, I'm not sure I would purchase it again.

So far so Good
I love my bookbag so far. Everyone at my school seems to really dig the solar panel in the back. Sadly however, the solar panel is not as durable as iI would have thought. It caught a scratch when I accidentally put it against a wall walking. Its pretty good though.
