GOP40 is a phenomenal multitool which a super fast on-off blade system; but note it will not fit OIS blades
Ok, first know what you are getting: this is the latest in blade lock tech which both Bosch and Fein are doing: it is a no-touch on and off starlock system for these blades. It will not take the old OIS blades, and does not advertise that it will. What is confusing is that the OSL blades which work with this CAN be used on older Bosck multitools. So, there is blade compatibility backward, but again, the GOP40 will not take the OIS blades. The blade removal is absurdly easy: no more hex wrnech or tool to put blades on and off. They literally snap on, and with a turn of the lever, pop right off. Because of the numerous contact points of the blade connection, I am finding that the power transfer feels stronger and there is no slop at all in the blade movement. And you still have all of the angles of attachment too. The unit itself is a beast. 4 amp motor is top in its class, so there is no lack of power even at the lowest setting. The housing is bombproof, but fortunately the tool is fairly light at 3.5 lbs and feels good in the hand with significantly less vibration than cheaper units. Noise level is less than expected for a multitool. As for uses, just go on youtube. This tool is a lifesaver for doing your own renovation work. Just for removing old caulk, this unit was worth its weight in gold. If you are debating about this unit versus ones that still take OIS, I would note that OIS blades are alot cheaper and there are generics out there. However, I would expect that even the cheaper units will catch up with the new blade attachment system in a few year, so why buy into the old tech unless you are simply destroying tons of blades. In all, I am super happy with the GOP 40.

Great for so many projects.
I wore out the previous Bosch oscillating tool after 10 years so it was a no brainer to get another one. The newer model has some improvements like the LED to light up work and the way the blade snaps into place. The nice thing about Bosch tools is that they have replacement parts available if you are inclined to repair instead of replace. Like other Bosch tools, this model seems to be durable and high quality. If I have to list a downside its that the older blades don't work directly with Starlock.

Multi-tool for multiple uses
I honestly don't know how I managed with out a multi-tool in the past. My most recent project was way easier with the Bosch multi-tool. I can't remember the number of times I said, "Multi-tool!", when I came up against a new problem but it was many. One blade I would recommend getting is a knife blade (no teeth) as I've found that it is very handy when a regular toothed blade would scare a surface. Recommended.

Star lock is the way to go!
The quick change blades are great! The star blade attachment holds very firmly increasing more torque to the blade. Making cuts super quick and effective. And the onboard light is also a nice touch

Feels like quality
Love the soft start , good power, and adjustable speed. How did I ever get this old without buying one of these!? The only thing I wish it had was a rotating head like I’ve seen on Ryobi.

Works but..
It works, however the one I received was 100% without a doubt used and returned. It was beaten up, dings and scraps all over it, dirt and dust. It had dead grass all over it when i took it out of the box. If I didn't need it right away I would have returned it. Other then the tool being abused, the box was in good shape and all of its accessories WERE there. Nice tool, just wish my money went towards a new product.

Happy Electrician
I have the older version of this tool that requires an Allen wrench to change the blades. I've cut in hundreds of old work boxes in blue board and horse hair plaster and love the tool. Also works great on wood. I recently purchased this newer version and am very pleased with it. As an electrician this is one of the tools I use the most. The quick change blade system is much faster than the older version and the LED light is also a nice feature. The cord is also considerably longer in the newer version saving me from grabbing an extension cord. The blades are expensive but you get what you pay for. I've used other multi tools and the Bosch vibrates much less than them which is key when trying to make a nice cut in brittle horse hair plaster. Overall very happy with this tool and would recommend to anyone especially electricians

Item is well balanced Even better - the sandpaper just attaches like Velcro and you ...
This tool is outstanding - everyone talks about the cutting but I bought it for the sanding (redoing my banisters and front door - upgraded to 80 grit and it ripped away the poly and stain in all the tight spaces. What a time saver. I had it on full power for well over a hour and it never really got hot nor was too loud. Item is well balanced Even better - the sandpaper just attaches like Velcro and you can flip the head around in seconds - the extra cost here was well worth it Suggest bosch's videos add a section on this tools sanding abilities - don't just position the product to the pros, everyday guys will pay up for a great product like this

200% satisfaisant 👍👌

Never owned one before but a handy tool!
I purchased the tool to cut the bottoms off the door casing in the house for new flooring. I have a number of Bosch tools and I love them all and this one is no exception. Sturdy feeling, long supple cord and did an amazing job. I sorta wish I paid more and got the hard case but that's my fault. Bosch seems to be able to maintain consistent quality over the years. I love that.

Solid, powerful with little vibration
Good power, used it to cut some drywall and some spruce and worked very well. Used it for about thirty minutes so far and seems solid. Like the locking mechanism too

Better value alternative instead of battery power tools.
Great alternative to battery powered tools of the same type-1/2 price. If you are not using this as a professional, having to run an extension cord (use 12 gauge HD) once or twice a year is well worth the effort. Cuts nails flat to surface, great for demolition work. Much lighter and safer when cutting thin wood pcs than jig saws or Skill saws.
