Everything that Giana Darling writes is beautifully provocative and consuming, but I’ll admit, I had been hesitant to dive into the Evolution of Sin Trilogy- into a love story that I knew would be beguiling and beautiful but one that starts from an action that many consider ugly - a love story that starts from cheating. But, with this amazing new boxset cover and Giana blessing fans with additional content to give even more complexity and story nuance to an already well loved series, I knew it was time to dive in. Because Giana Darling is an author that has proven to poetically and boldly confront and examine the less “acceptable” forms of love- love that is more epic, more challenging, more complicated than the average love story. And in doing so, her love stories always feel more real, more visceral, because they are more hard fought.And Sinclair and Giselle definitely have a hard fought love story- two imperfect souls who find each other in one another’s orbit but whose different backworlds and world views aren’t the ONLY barrier. I can tell you now- if cheating is a trigger for you, this series most certainly won’t be for you, but if you’re like me, open minded but self-aware enough to know that this is a trope that often isn’t your favorite, one that you have a hard time stomaching unless it is done with “care” and done “well”, then take a chance. And, there are added dynamics here as well as BDSM plays a part of their relationship as well.Their story starts with an affair, spawned by an undeniable attraction and chemistry, a connection that was only supposed to be temporary. But, fate brings them back together, and a complicated, messy angsty love story unfolds. One that tugged at my heart, challenged my mind, broke me and healed me- and swallowed me whole. There’s a lot of unexpected twists, with mystery and emotional complexity beautifully weaving together in a sensual but complicated narrative that works up towards the inevitably explosive and heart wrenching finale.The characters are transfixing- mesmerizing. Giana has always been such a soulful character writer, and it amazes me that this was her first series. Sinclair is delicious- a complicated and arrogant man that thrives on control. He’s sexy and domineering in his protectiveness, in the way he takes control. And Elle is the kind of heroine I find so fascinating- a softer, sweet and nuanced woman, plagued by her own insecurities and baggage. Together they are magnetic- deliciously forbidden, complicated and explosive. And so very passionate. I could not stop rooting for them, even when I did not agree with their actions, but I felt their connection so deeply, I was as consumed by it as they were.Like with all Giana stories- her lyrical and poetic style of prose amaze me. She has the profound ability to tell stories that are emotively visceral, that are raw and gritty, in writing that is technically so artfully composed. You can’t help but marvel at the natural ease and classic beauty of her writing style- creating a reading experience that is both immersive and moving. Simply put, this woman is an artist with words.Despite the catalyst of this love story, I found myself loving it- justifying it, understanding it, even excusing it. And that is part of the magic of Giana Darling- not only does she demonstrate what true, soulful love can be by giving her characters the most challenging of obstacles to being together, but she also challenges our conceptions of what love is “right” and what love is “wrong.” I never leave a story of hers not feeling like I more deeply understand the emotion- both platonic and romantic, I never close a Giana Darling without feeling like I see love with new and fresh eyes. And that is what the Evolution of Sin did here- made me see a “sin” as something right because it lead to something. “Right” or “wrong” this is a love story for the ages, and I’m glad I took a chance on a trope that isn’t always my thing.4.5 stars

He wasn’t reckless with his choices, though their ramifications were costly, but he knew what he wanted when he saw it, and was willing to sacrifice anything to get it—even the happiness of another in order to make two people happy. Beyond being perfect enough to be Sin’s Siren, Elle was genuinely sweet and soft, sensitive as only an artist is, and tender as a freshly-bloomed flower. There was something so infinitely magnetizing about her courage for it was coupled with a bright, refreshing naïveté that made her story with Sin the most romantic of all of Darling’s works.Slight spoiler: The additional content with Elena and Dante, from the author’supcoming Antiheroes in Love duet, was so dreamy! I loved every minute of it!With twists and turns beyond belief, this series is riveting and addictive, rife with flawed yet wonderful characters, rich settings, and a glorious story. Elle and Sin have my heart for all eternity, and if you take a gamble of this series, you may just find yourself yielding your heart to the enigmatic French mogul, too!

I am so in love with this trilogy and the characters that I cannot really put it in words. I love the chemistry between these characters and the whole Lombardi family. This series encompasses so many ideas and countries and I loved to be able to travel the world through them while being stuck at home. Giana's writing is amazing and it is fantastic to see how good it was from the start. I cannot wait to read the Anti-Hero in Love duett.

This series completely swept me away! This couple meet when they are on a trip to Mexico. The chemistry is sizzling and they agree to a no strings affair for one week. Giana Darling really has a unique talent of bringing her characters to life and making you fall in love with them. After a sex charged week on vacation in Mexico, Giselle and Sinclair decided to go their own ways. Giselle is ready to start her new life in New York. Part 2 will have you reeling with angst, throwing your book and then scrambling after it to read more. The feels are intense and demanding...and ohhh so good!! Be prepared for one hell of a ride!!Sin and Giselle will remain one of my all time favourite couples. Sinclair completely stole my heart! He had endured so much throughout this series and had evolved into one amazing man.. The sizzling hot scenes were over the top, eroticism at it's finest. Hoping we will hear more from this amazing cast of characters!! I must say the additional content really brought this new edition of this boxset to a whole new level!!! Must read!!

Giselle Lombardi ( Elle ) grew up with her family in Italy ,although her mother worked hard to provide a happy home for her and her three other siblings ,her father however was deeply in debt to the mafia with gambling debts and there would be frequent arguments between the parents and quite often the family would have to hide when the mafia showed up to get their money . After deciding that he couldn’t take anymore their father left his family to face the music on their own and just disappeared . Things were pretty bleak for the family after that while the others tried their best to get the family out of trouble ,as Elle was the youngest and she was always treated as if she were a delicate flower . Although at that time she had a good relationship with all her siblings that would change with her eldest sister when something major would happen later on. The family were finally able to get out of Italy when Cosima who was one of twins who after leaving Italy managed to get enough money together to bring the family over to New York ,Elle however went to Paris to study art and ultimately she was to be reunited with her family in America .The oportunity comes up to go on holiday to Mexico and after going through a traumatic period in her life she sees it as a positive move to get her thoughts together before going to join the rest . As she’s not a very good traveller the journey is quite stressful ,but when on the flight she meets a very handsome man called Sinclair (Sin) ,who is enroute to a business meeting and as luck would have it is staying at the same hotel as Elle .Very quickly they both realise that there’s a strong sexual attraction between them, Sin tells Elle that he’s in a long term relationship , at that knowledge her thoughts are conflicted and feels sorry for the other woman but her need for him is greater so both agree to having a “no questions asked” holiday affair for the week , it’s clear though that it’s going to be very difficult to end their affair after a week . At the end of their last night together, Elle decides to leave quietly without saying goodbye and makes her way to her family in America . Glad to be reunited with her mother ,and the twins ,Cosima and Sebastian, she finds that things are still very strained between herself and the eldest sibling Elena , the situation is also set to become very awkward indeed when a certain ghost from her not too distant past is also there in New York as well and ultimately the air is electric when they meet again . Both Elle and Sinclair ( Sin) have had difficult pasts ,but with Sin he was adopted by a very wealthy influential couple and although he had the best of everything his adoptive parents didn’t give him the love and affection that Elle had with her family. The story is full of revelations ,we find out Sinclairs first name which is Daniel ,it has twists and turns galore not forgetting really hot vanilla / BDSM sex and major OMG moments, especially when the identity of Daniel Sinclair’s long term partner is revealed ,all in all it’s an excellently written story with a fantastic but very fitting end .

I am not usually a lover of books that are based around cheating. But... this series of books are soooo welll written that even if you struggle with the original premise, you will find it hard to put down.Giselle and Sin are 2 people drawn together without history and of course that is flipped on its head. I think the title focuses on Sinclair, but to be fair, Giselle evolves just as much. From a shy, demure, innocent woman in her early twenties, to someone who blossoms under dominance and love.Absolutely loved these 3 books and Giana Darling will be a one-click for me in future.

This trilogy will keep you reading until the end, it is one of the most intriguing story I have read so far, extremely good!
