Daphnis Et Chloe

As long-time subscribers of the Philadelphia Orchestra, we have thoroughly enjoyed seeing Yannick so totally embraced by the musicians and by the city. He has reenergized this venerable organization, and is well on the way to restoring and enhancing its international reputation. This recording is a welcome companion to the ones we're anticipating as a result of last fall's performances at Verizon Hall.

You could hardly hope for a finer performance, or finer audio quality. Although not quite in the league of the legendary recordings by Munch and Monteux, it's nonetheless fully satisfactory as an interpretation in its own right. And you can hear every instrument.
