We even had guests who left their shoes out, so I asked if I could spray this on their shoes-- because he previously destroyed an overnight guest's shoelaces-- they said yes and their shoelaces were untouched. For context, I'm using this on a cat who seems to chew on cords/slipper beads to get my attention. I really don't care about the beads on my slippers except for her sake (she will go to chew on them because I'm not paying attention to her, which inevitably ends up getting her kicked in the head several times every day). The power cords I absolutely do care about, so I'm pretty dissapointed that this didn't work at all. I bought this to discourage my cats from scratching on the wicker plant baskets and chewing on the leaves. One of my cats *loved* loved the smell/taste, and the other hated it. You win some, you lose some. You also have to apply it *regularly*; at least once a day if not more. This, in conjunction with spraying them with a little spray bottle of water, did eventually help deter them. However it took a lot of time and wasn't a miracle cure.
