The four-contact adapter like this one didn't work on my phone. But it wasn't its fault! Apparently with four-contact plugs, my phone thinks my headphones also have a microphone. So the phone disables its own microphone and no one could hear me. Getting this one with three contacts solved the problem.So my advice, get both types.

i had a headset where the third pin that does the controls and mic was shorting out, put one of these in line with it. Short was causing music and movies to pause and restart unpredictably. Cant use the controls or the microphone, so what, I can still use my favorite headphones, my skullcandy titans earbuds to listen to music. Very satisfied.The 2nd one went one my daughters ipad with her Minnie Mouse headphones, as the plug did not fit in due to the case. this fixed that situation perfectly. And as the toddler pulls on the cord, these just simply disconnect. Any damage that will be done will be done to these and i'll just order a new one, rather than having to buy a new set of Disney branded headphones.Fixed a problem with one set of headphones, insured another set. They are built pretty well, they feel good in your hands like you got a good quality product.

These are made out of nice materials. The Jacks fit tightly and they function well. You can't beat them for the price.

These must be low quality cables, because it only took 3 weeks before they started to die (cable sometimes only plays audio in one ear and needs to be bent in a certain way to work now).I guess with 2 you'll get 2 months of life out of these cables.UPDATE: cable has completely stopped working now after 4 weeks, they are very badly made. The cable is already pulling apart from the jack (see pic)

Got to use for my kids' iPad minis (with LifeProof Fre cases) and Beats Solo 2 (as the angled Beats won't fit into the iPad with the Fre case on it).The sound quality seems fine, however, the volume control on the Beats won't work (the volume still works by adjusting it on the iPad). I also tried it on the iPhone 6 and same disabling of the volume control on the Beats themselves. I wanted a flexible adapter that won't damage the iPads when bumped so these will work and since it's my young kids using them they probably won't totally miss the volume control on the actual headphones.

They send two because one is bound to not work. The first one only played audio through one ear while the second played it through both. Garbage product, will look into purchasing an alternative once this one breaks.
