The Leashboss Extra Long Dog Leash for Dog Training is an excellent product that I’ve had the pleasure of using. This 20-foot black leash is a fantastic tool for training recall with dogs in an outdoor setting. This is my go-to leash when I take my 51 lb Chinese Shar-pei on a short hike. I ordered the 20 foot lead and it has changed my life! No kidding! My dog, Addie, is 21 months old. She had life saving, life changing open heart surgery on September 22nd to fix a congenital blockage in her pulmonary valve. She has a synthetic patch-graft in there now. Just prior to the surgery she was not able to stand at her bowl to eat. I had to bring her food to her in bed. She would tire halfway through the kitchen and just lie down. She almost did not make it to her surgery. She had a failed balloon procedure in August and there was a good chance she would not make it through the open heart procedure. Thankfully the folks at Tufts/Foster Hospital in MA were amazing and saved Addie's life. I was used to her being a sick dog who really did do too much and tired so easily. The surgery has turned her into a new dog! She now has a LOT of energy and wants to be out playing in the snow here in Mid-Maine and taking walks. I had been fostering Addie for the local Humane Society and had hoped that she would be 100% after her surgery but that did not happen so knowing that she will always be special needs, have some limitations, and require some level of medical care I decided to go ahead and adopt her. I also have heart and lung problems and I am disabled. Taking care of a young, mostly healthy pup was not really on my radar but Addie and I bonded completely throughout our thousands of miles of travels for her emergency room visits for chest taps to remove fluid in her chest and her visits to Tufts in MA for surgeries and follow up visits with her cardiology team, a 3.5 hour drive each way. Addie and I take some of the same medications so I am uniquely familiar with what she is going through. I do not have a fenced in yard and have 8 outside steps that we have to go up and down every time Addie needs to go out to do her business. Since she is on diuretics, like me, she needs to go out quite a lot. Before the surgery it was common for us to go out 25-30 times a day up and down the stairs. It wasn't too bad in the summer but once the rain started coming and then winter it was not easy to get us up and down the stairs. Thankfully now it's only 5-15 times a day but that's still a lot for me and for Addie. I knew I had to come up with some way of getting her down the stairs with me not going down. The 20 foot lead was my first thought. I was not sure how a long lead would work since Addie has never been outside in the past 7 months without being at most 6 feet away from me on leash. She is not allowed to be outside off leash due to her medical condition. She had been on a tie out during the summer but I was right there in the yard with her. Addie is 35 pounds, an American Foxhound/Beagle mix, but she is incredibly strong. I mean like scary strong for a dog her size. I knew I would need a lead that I could trust. I was very happy to see the quality of the lead when I got it. The buckle looked very secure also. After raising over $10,000 for Addie's medical care and heart procedures losing her to a shoddy leash would be a disaster so a great lead was a priority. The first time she went down the stairs without me I was a bit nervous but trusted your lead. We have been using it every day since we got it. Addie is able to go down and do her business in the rain, cold, and snow and I can stay in the cover of the hallway but with a good hold on her due to the Leashboss lead. I also have been able to bring Addie into the backyard where she can run and play a bit in the snow with the lead. I don't have to worry about being tripped up by a 6 foot lead when she wants to run and play. The amount of freedom this leash has provided to me and to Addie has been amazing. It truly has been life changing for both of us. If not for this lead working this well I would have had to consider someone else adopting Addie. I would have done that if it was best for her though it would have broken my heart to lose her but thanks to the Leashboss 20 foot lead my pup is with me and we are able to live a better life. I don't know if you have had many stories of your leads changing someone's life but I just thought you should know that Addie and I are very happy with this product. I ordered this leash about a month ago and have only had a chance to use it a few times. My main use is for training recall, and allowing my leash aggressive dog to have a little freedom while hiking in the state parks. I like the velcro loop to contain the extra leash when not using. Is so far is sturdy, and does what I want it to do. I have only used it out on ice covered lakes so far. My only worry so far is that with getting wet from the snow and dragging through the snow the leash has become a little fuzzy. Product seems well made, and time will tell on how it holds up. I would recommend this product. Good price ***Update- I have been using my 50 foot boss for awhile. Love it for training, but it got a little annoying on hikes hanging on to all that extra. So I recently purchased two 30ft leashes. One for the backyard tie out and one for hiking. Used the one for hiking for the first time yesterday and loved it. They are durable and the clips so far have held up to my strong dog.

I like this leash. The strong 1” width provides a firm, comfortable grip, and the 15 ft length makes it perfect for walking/hiking on trails. The attached velcro strap is also handy for shortening the leash. The clasp is large and works well, though it did seize up when I didn’t dry it after getting caught in a downpour. A little wd40 did the trick. I’d buy it again.

Leash arrived on time, checked it for any defects of which there were none. The second I put this on my 4yr old Husky and he realized how long it was, it was like he suddenly heard "The Sound Of Music", he was skipping all over the place like a Springbok Deer due to how much freedom it gave him. If like me you cannot get to a dog park, this is undoubtedly the next best thing. The Leashboss will turn a simple potty run into a fun playtime that will expel a ton of energy for your dog but virtually none for you, that's a win win in my book. Not saying I couldn't do with the exercise, just saying I don't want to lol. Stay more than 30 feet at all times from the road or any obstacles you wish to avoid, you may indeed have a good grip but why take the risk ya know? Then let the dog slowly know the full extent of the leash, they pick up their max boundary pretty quick. It's also a very good idea to invest in a good pair of leather (or equivalent) gloves should you need to apply the brakes quickly if another dog suddenly appears. The speed even a small dog can build up over 20-30 feet could pull you right off your feet or dislocate a shoulder if you're not careful. So get into the habit of taking up the slack when your dog is close and let it out when he/she needs it. I had looked at the retractable kinds of leashes but decided to go old school as I like to have my hand through the loop and locked around the leash, not just holding it across my fingers, those of us with bigger dogs know the importance of this. I have seen far too many dogs, all little ones btw, hauling up the street with a retractable leash flapping around behind them because the owner gave the dog too much slack and wasn't prepared for the force needed to stop a running dog and lost their grip on the device. This is also the perfect way to test if your dog will do as he's told when he has the freedom to disobey, without having to chase him down and catch him. Can't say enough about this leash, good construction and the best training tool I have used to date.

The Leashboss is definitely a high quality product compared to what you would find at a regular pet store. I have put the leash to the test with my chaotic lab. The leash looks brand new regardless of being drug thru rain, marsh, dirt, mud, rock, etc. The clasps are better than average and appear to be well made and durable. I feel like the clasp is light enough for smaller dogs and durable enough for most big dogs. My lunging 50+ lb dog hasn't broken the clasp or shredded the material. It is softer than a regular leash and I found it comfortable to hold regardless of the bucking puppy on the other end. I like having the attached velcro strap to keep the leashboss wrapped up and free from tangles. 30 feet is pretty good for off leash training work. I would be interested in 10 ft and 6 ft sizes as well. Due to the durability and looks I highly recommend this leash and would by it again.

Good quality... ideal for my Amstaff ... she loves the water so I can stay dry while she explores the creek. Great value.

Great for looping around a tree on our front lawn so our puppy can play outside. The velcro strap that's stitched at one end is great for rolling it up and storing it. Metal buckle is durable. I'll likely buy a longer one too.

Compared to other long leashes, I found this one to be exactly what I wanted. Positives: Very strong (my dog is an 85lb. German Shepherd who will run for squirrels!). The clip is of good quality, and large enough. I have bought other leashes where the clip will block if any sand (digging or swimming) gets into the clip or it is a small cheap clip. This one is a good one! It is slippery enough to not get caught on any little thing in your path, and heavy enough that it does not wind around the legs easily like some of the thinner lighter weight long leashes do. I am very pleased with this product!
