This is a very good product and am happy with it… it came as it looks in the description but I was just surprised of the size … but in all its fast and very portable

I just bought the SanDisk Extreme v2 - and I already have the v1 so I was able to compare. i use these disks mainly for backup (PC not Mac) - to put the speed in perspective, few years ago i used to leave my laptop overnight to backup around 200Gb of data using old USB hard disks - with this disk, copying 500Gb of data (multiple backups - from the SanDisk v1 SSD) literally took a little less than 40mins - once i figured out how to configure my laptop to give maximum speed (read below). Useful notes on performance and speed: - Benchmarking the v2 disk gives around 900MB/s read and write - actual / real speed depends on so many variables: PC configuration (port specs, proper drivers), windows configuration (enabling write-cache, Windows Defender real-time protection), your copying tool, and the nature of the files you're working on / copying (smaller files will cause lower speed) - the trick i learned the hard way to get best speed is to enable write-cache for the drive, and to disable Windows Defender real-time protection (or add the drive to "exclusions") during a long backup operation, otherwise windows will be inspecting each file being copied which will cause speed degradation. - make sure to double-check your laptop USB port specs. This disk works best with USB 3.2 Gen 2 or higher. if your USB ports are lower specs, expect lower speeds (still fast enough though - even on USB 3.1) - the drive gets warm - but no impact on performance, and it won't be "burning hot" at this price for the extreme v2, this is great value.. and the upgraded speed is the best to get for now given the USB specs that are currently available for laptops

TOP Verarbeitung. Stabiles Gehäuse. Sie ist von den Abmessungen her so groß wie eine Packung Tempos. Neben dem kurzen Kabel USB-C auf USB- C ist auch noch ein Adapter USB-C auf USB-A dabei. Die anderen Details wurden schon in anderen Rezensionen genannt. Deshalb erspare ich mir eine ausführliche Rezension. Auf jeden Fall eine Kaufempfehlung von mir !! Update 15.01.2025 Inzwischen habe ich 3 Stück dkeser SSD. Eine davon dient als Time Machine für mein Macbook Air.

The speed difference alone makes it worth it—transfers that used to take minutes on my traditional hard drives now finish in seconds. Large files, videos, photos, and backups move incredibly fast with no lag or stuttering. The size is another huge win. It’s unbelievably compact—smaller than most phones and light enough to clip onto a backpack or keep in a pocket without even noticing it’s there. Despite the small size, it feels durable and solid, with a rugged rubberized exterior that helps protect it from drops and everyday wear. Compared to traditional hard drives, there’s no spinning disk, no noise, and no worrying about bumps causing damage. It stays cool during most normal use and has been extremely reliable so far. I use it for work files, media storage, and backups, and it has handled everything without a single issue. A few small caveats worth mentioning: • It can get a little warm during long or heavy file transfers (not dangerously hot, just warm to the touch). • To get the full advertised speed, you need a USB-C port that supports USB 3.1/3.2 Gen 2. On older ports, it will still work fine but will be slower. • Like most SSDs, it’s pricier than traditional external hard drives, but the speed and portability make the difference worth it. • The included cable is on the shorter side, so you might want a longer one depending on your setup. Overall, this SanDisk Extreme SSD is a huge step up from regular external drives—faster, smaller, tougher, and much more convenient. If you need a dependable portable drive with great performance, this one is absolutely worth it.
