Is this as great as the Dippity Do gel from the 1970s?

I didn’t use it in the 70’s but this is really good.

How stiff will this product make hair when roller setting?

I put the gel on a wet head. I sleep with it stiff. In the morning when my hair is totally dry it is very stiff. I run a brush gently through my hair and than curl with a curling iron, then style. Holds for several days very nicely.

I only use a small amount. I don’t have any trouble with flaking.

Would this help hold horse mane braids?

My hair is not coarse like a horse. I have 73 yo white, fine hair. But you know what- give it a whirl. You, and your horse, just might be thrilled with the results! And weave pretty ribbons in the mane while doing so. Loved the question!!! Made my day! 🥰
