I had this book in my TBR pile for such a long time, and one day, I was scrolling through my Amazon TBR list and saw this was free for a limited time! I've never seen my finger hit the purchase button so fast. 😆⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5 starsLet me start by saying I LOVE romantic suspense novels. I love even more when the heroine has to fight to get her life back. And man, did our heroine in this book fight! I was sucked in from the very first sentence, and I could barely stand to put it down so I could get some much-needed sleep.Our Hero, Axel, instantly made me fall in love with him. I knew from the moment we entered into his mind that he was going to be one of the best, most redeemable male characters I've ever read.This book was heartfelt, gut-wrenching, and emotionally satisfying. I've added it to my favorites list and will be purchasing it in paperback so it sits prettily on my shelf!

This was a good read. Readers beware: There are dark matters in this book, graphic sex scenes and language.I enjoyed Zoe’s character, she was strong and compassionate. I didn’t get the makeup part. Zoe said that the people who had captured her, had the same kind of products that she used at home. How did they know what kind of products she used?? That part was not explained. Why didn’t Zoe make the cut to be sold as a sex slave, instead of being put with the ones who were slated to be terminated? Especially, since she cooperated with them and didn’t give them any problems and they said that she had unusual features (which were beautiful), for example her eyes and skin tone. This book ends on a: CLIFFHANGER. It has unfinished business…Where is Moira?? And who is behind Zoe and the other women’s kidnappings?? You have to purchase the next book in the series to find out. So, I wouldn’t say that this is a stand alone book.PLOT: Zoe has been in love with Axel (who is a few years older than her and is her brothers best friend), since she was in elementary school. Axel is prior military and works for an organization that rescues people from sex trafficking and from other harmful environments.A year prior Zoe tried to seduce Axel and it backfired. Now, she feels rejected by him (but she still loves him) and he still sees her as the same little girl that he used to walk to school. However, that changes when Zoe disappears, while on vacation in Cancun.Zoe finds herself in a situation that is going to not only break her tender spirit, but end her life. Axel is determined to find her (along with his team), rescue her, mend her broken spirit, give her the safety and confidence that she needs, while claiming her as his.However, Axel can’t be with Zoe 24 / 7. What are the chances of a repeat life altering occurrence, happening again?

I enjoyed book 1 of this this series and am looking forward to book 2. I will definitely recommend this book to friends and family.

Ellie Masters is at the top of her game in The Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series. The first few chapters of Rescuing Zoe are dark and gritty and will completely suck you into this emotionally charged romance. The heart stopping action and suspense will have you on the edge of your seat and turning the page to find out what's going to happen next. I felt every bit of Zoe's terror, resolve, despair and rage during her ordeal. I also admit to crying at several poignant moments.Axel knows deep in his soul that being a Guardian is what he was born to do. Finding his best friend's sister, Zoe, and rescuing her makes him realize the deep feelings he has for her. She's his. Zoe has crushed on Axel for most of her life. Having him save her certainly doesn't mitigate her feelings for him. But overcoming the aftermath of her ordeal and learning to find a new normal consumes her. When they finally get their feelings for one another out in the open it's a turning point. Zoe and Axel have a powerful love that transcends danger, adversity and distance.

3.25 STARSVery emotional story and certainly on the dark side with many triggers for some. This is a story mostly of human trafficking with women and children. Kidnapping, sex slaves (off page), a lot of violence and sex. Lords name and crude words throughout.I enjoyed the part of the story where they go to heal their many wounds inside and out. It's a long journey and not easy to read.Some parts needed more info. SPOILERS......Why were IUD's put in the women? I thought maybe they were really tracking devices. How else was Zoe found by the villains.Zoe had broken ribs. But, when she is rescued she doesn't act like anything is wrong, nor does she when she has passionate sex.When the team rescues her and comes through the roof, why didn't the villains here them. Assuming they cut a hole in the roof. End of spoilersLovemaking outside of marriage - and a lot - descriptive - heat level 5 out of 5.No cheating, no cliffhanger for our MC but is for a secondary character, ends at 95% on my e-reader, nice set up for next story, standalone but does have crossover characters from Bravo team and Alpha team, HEA, ending felt rushed and little on romance.I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you tidbits to decide to purchase. This is one of the best books I've ever read. Its so well written and true to the way it happens. I'm so excited to continue on with the next book in the series.

RESCUING ZOE was pretty intense. I couldn't put it down and go to bed. I was hooked by the first pages.I highly recommend to read the warnings if you have any triggers.#anxiety #firstlove #brothersbestfriend #specialforces

Wow. Really well written, but I was surprised how dark it was. Really good balance between romance and drama. I'll definitely be reading the next book, but I am going to read something a bit lighter and then come back.

I loved this book from start to finished, seen it advertised on Facebook and had to check it out. I couldn't put it down from the storyline, to the romance plus through in hot alpha exnavy seals yep I'm in!!Jumping start into the next one 😁

This was a great book. Well written and just wow. There are triggers as it talks about kidnapping and exploitation of children and young adults and how they overcome and found the strength within.
