A Crime Unlike Any Other: What the Facts Say About Dr. Bruce Edwards Ivins a Paperback – 10 November 2012

Mr. Lake has written an excellent account of the anthrax attacks of 2001. He kept his Internet site documenting the case current from the early days of the investigation through the end of 2014. The site is a historical repository of news articles, objective thoughts, and investigative theories. In "A Crime Unlike Any Other," Mr. Lake presents an analysis of everything he learned during the ten years he studied and researched the case. His book is an extremely well written review of a complicated case.

disclosure: I helped with the research.That being said, the author has done a superb job of describing the event itself, the hysteria, the misdirections both by some folk with fixations on the wrong suspects and... and the various political forces that had their own agenda. Add in his description of the Big Finding that helped lead the investigators into the right direction, namely that the Conventional Wisdom about the Ames strain of anthrax wasn't quite correct...Hopefully "we've" (the larger "we") have learned a couple of lessons here.
