The ShinMaywa Norus 1/2hp water pump will shut down at 36' of head. Around 30 foot of head you will have a flow rate of about 1,000 GPH. However, we DO NOT RECOMMEND running this pump that hard as it will dramatically shorten the life of your pump. The optimal point for this pump is around 20 foot of head which gives a flow rate of about 2,700 GPH. If you need a higher flow rate we recommend stepping up to one of the two 1hp pumps that ShinMaywa offers. If you need more flow or a higher head capacity I would ask that you call us at (833) 779-2837 so we can better assist you with your needs. Thank you and enjoy your pond! **Q: How high will this pump, push a 1" nozzle head?** A: The water height will vary tremendously depending on what type of nozzle you are using on this 1/2 HP pump. It can potentially vary from 5 ft. up to 20 ft. More Q's? Call Pond and Garden Depot at 1-866-305-5459. Heather B. Customer Service **Q: What are the demensions of this pump?** A: Excellent question! The ShinMaywa Norus 1/2hp water pump is 15.5" tall and 9.45" wide and it weighs 22 lbs. The voltage of the unit is 115 volts and it draws 5.5 amps when running. It features a 33 foot long power cord and has a 2" NPT output. It is a stainless steel pump for many years of long life and features a 2 year warranty. Please call us at (833) 779-2837 if you can assist you further. Thank you and enjoy your pond! **Q: I purchased this pump with prime shipping and usps said it was damaged and won’t be delivered. no other contact. when will i get a replacement pump??** A: You should be OK - If it was a prime order it is covered by the Prime return policy. Just request a replacement and amazon should ship a replacement Immediately. You get your refund when the defective item is shipped back - and I believe you have 30 days to ship the bad one back. I’ve never had any issue with defective Prime returns. Non- prime orders are another story. I had to replace mine after 5 years of use. Since I lived in Colorado, I shut the pond down each fall and left the pump in for the deep freeze. I ordered and installed a new ShinMaywa this summer. It is a great pump and Amazon got it delivered on time! Waterfall height was 8'. ## Frequently Bought Together - ShinMaywa Norus 5700 GPH 1/2HP Submersible Garden Pond Waterfall Pump | 50CR2.4S - CrystalClear AlgaeOff Pond & Water Garden Scum Cleaner, Waterfall & Rock Slime Remover, String Algae Killer, Green Stain Treatment, EPA Registered Algaecide, Plant, Koi Fish, Bird & Pet Safe, 25 lbs - API POND ALGAEFIX Algae Control 8-Ounce Bottle --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/31094616-shinmaywa-norus-5700-gph-1-2hp-submersible-garden-pond-waterfall](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/31094616-shinmaywa-norus-5700-gph-1-2hp-submersible-garden-pond-waterfall) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-25*
