Not like the series. But worse, sort of writing that plays on superficial preconceptions. And not particularly good writing, not bad though, but could have been edited down a third then there would have been room for some thing more thoughtful and rich once in a while. It was as if the whole read was waiting for something meaningful full or fresh.

Great Sequel to the BBC TV Series
My wife and I watched and enjoyed the Land Girls series on TV. Sitting at home while the COVID-19 crisis hovered outside, we spent many happy hours in WWII England. So we were sad to arrive at the end of the season with som many questions unanswered: What would happen to Connie and the Vicar? Would they ever be happy? Would Farmer Finch finally find a money-making scheme that worked? Any Joyce? Esther?Finding the books was a Godsend. I don't read romance novels, but I'm proud to say I enjoyed this book. Not sure if I would recommend this to someone jumping right to the printed page, but if you watched and liked the TV series you'll like the book ... and you'll find out what happens to Connie and the Vicar.

Interesting read of yet another WWII happening
The author has given an exciting read that bridges various sections of society while telling actual WWII history in England. He has successfully brought many story strands together involving very believable characters. Thanks to him for giving an excellent history lesson!

Good read
I wish the series was still going. This new "episode" is following Vicar George and new wife Connie as they make a life together. Things aren't going so well and getting worse as Connies' past catches up with her. Appeals to everyone.

A Shame The TV Series Didn't Continue.
Bought as a gift after watching the TV series. The recipient couldn't wait to start reading them. A lovely county story intertwined with the lives of the Land Girls who helped keep farms running whilst the usual farm workers were fighting in WW2.

Loved the t.v. Series, and now the books.
I felt in the beginning of the first chapter, as if I were walking back to the farm, revisiting friends. Now finished with the first book (post series), I canβt wait for the next edition. Thank you for your talent and keeping the stories flowing.Mrs. T.M. Kitchen
