The Japanese create - in my opinion - some of the finest writing pens, and this is no exception. This model is more expensive due to the finishing (pearl white like barrel and chrome coloured tip and clip) and you can the same pen at around half the price but with black plastic finishing plus other colours if you want. All interiors are the same in both and they are both worth it.

Def 100% WORTH the price! *DON'T* go the generic route!!! It's a waste of money..! --my opinion. I'm very specific about the feel and the look of a pen. The smoothness of writing is a BiG Factor when it comes to buying pens... these are, hands down, the Best of the Best, in every area! :) ~*I'm*a*Pen*FREAK!*~ ..That being said... ~these pens!~ are absolutely the BEST pens I've EveR come across! The ink colors are so vibrant: one bright pink gel ink pen, one beautiful purple gel ink pen, and a regular dark blue gel ink pen. **The items are Exactly As Described.** **Same goes for the pictures of these items.** In this case: -What you see, is Really what you get!- And I think, Anyone & Everyone can Truly appreciate that! :) -especially now-a-days! (sad truth, hey..) A Legit, GooD Deal- is hard to come by... I recently purchased a 'generic-version' of these pens, from a different seller, here on Amazon, and I fully regret it. I use my pens quite often... Daily, and I have yet to run out of ink. I ordered these pens a few months ago, if that can be of any help... I like Pentel Energels; the refills are one of the finest I’ve ever used. Smooth, buttery, among the quickest drying inks I’ve ever encountered. If you’re new to the pen world, then Pentel Energel is probably one of the top 3 pens you can buy in-store, period. The other strong contenders are Uni-ball Jetstream, Uni-ball Signo, and Pilot V5/V7. I personally prefer Energel over the competitions, although I still have a collection of pens to rotate through. That about sums it up for the refills and the ink itself, but this review isn’t just about the ink and refill; it’s also about the body. For about a third of the price of these pens, you can get the Pentel Energel X. For half the price, you can get the normal Energel RTX. So what makes this pen so special that it costs almost $6 a pen? The colour. Yup, that’s it. How does the body feel to write with? It’s good; in fact, it’s identical to the normal Pentel Energel RTX. It's nothing special compared to the other Pentel Energel bodies. So, in summary, it’s a fantastic pen that looks great, has a solid feel, and perhaps uses the best ink and refill on the market right now. It’s also identical to the Energel RTX, which you can buy for half the price.

These pens are terrific! I’ve had one of these pens for years and use it all the time, especially for writing in birthday and other greeting cards. These pens write very smoothly and don’t smudge on paper, which is ideal. I was worried I may lose the one pen so I bought this packet in different colors, and very glad I did. I now have different color options for different writing needs.
