Good OEM replacement
Like the other reviews have said, the strut lift the hood a little higher than the oem one. But it works well so far.

Yay! No more being hit on the back of my head.
These struts seem to provide better lift than the originals when new. See video. Easy self-install. Not trivial, but certainly doesn't require great feats of screwdriver prowess. You'll need a pretty small screwdriver — I have a $5 five-pack of screwdrivers from Target. Check any number of youtube videos. New ones went on with very little effort. My car is a 2008 Cayman S, but you should get similar results with similar-vintage 911s and Boxsters.

Perfect Fit. Very sturdy with plenty of lift.
I purchased these as replacements for the front trunk struts on my 2006 Porsche Boxster S. These were a perfect fit and provided much needed lift and holding power versus the original ones that had worn out. The installation was a bit fiddly but after following instructions on several YouTube videos, I was able to complete it quickly. Eight months after installation, they're still working perfectly, and I have no fear of the lid coming down on my head anymore.
