UPDATED: We use it like a whole-house fan to pull air through the house
UPDATE: Two years later, still works like new.UPDATE: One year later, and it's working like a champ. No wobble. No additional noise.ORIGINAL REVIEW: It moves a lot of air. It has a fairly wide dispersion pattern. It would be great for a warehouse or large shop. How we use it is pointing out the patio door, it works like a whole-house fan, but for cheap. It quickly pulls air from all the windows in the house. If we point it in, it moves much less volume from outside. I think it pulls from right behind the fan. If this is for your house, it works great to suck hot air out. For what it is, the volume is reasonable, and not grating. It's very well constructed, everything seems industrial strength, but easy to put together. Grill snaps off for cleaning.

Powerful fan that does the job.
I have not had the fan long, but looking at other reviews here's my take thus far. The fan was well protected from shipping mishaps in it's box. Assembly is not hard. Simple screwdriver and wrench to complete. Use a wrench on the bolt to adjust up and down attitude of fan, otherwise it'll move on you. Also to have it not oscillate you simply move the attachment point from one place to another (about an inch or so) and you just need your screwdriver (one screw). It's not a big deal.We really like it stationary on our deck, which is about 12' X 20'. We feel the breeze just fine with it not oscillating. When it oscillates it leaves you without a breeze of course for a few seconds, which is to me irritating. The fan is big enough and powerful enough to cover the area while stationary. After the fan runs for an hour or so the fan housing is not more than slightly warm (and that might be from the sun not the fan). It seems to have a large enough motor that it's not overly taxed. I didn't give it a five star because I think the price could be down a bit, but you do get what you pay for it seems (I'm loath to give out 5 stars for anything. We pleasantly surprised and pleased with the fan so far.p.s. we have a cover ordered and plan on leaving it on the deck (it's not very portable), but are covering the business end of it with a heavy duty trash bag for now which is working fine.

Just What I Wanted
This is not a misting fan. It's a commercial fan and moves the air. Misters make things damp and most don't work as they are supposed to. This is great for outdoors as we ordered a outdoor heater cover which is working great.

Piece of Crap.
It's a piece of crap. Don't waste your money on it.

Solid craftsmanship
Extremely well built solid powerful fan. What a joy to assemble something clearly designed to last and also be aesthetically pleasing (in an industrial built to last kind of way). We’ve only had it a few weeks, but it’s engineered in the fashion of something your great grandchildren will still be using. Thanks to the designers and builders who appreciate the value and beauty of craftsmanship.

Good buy.
I've had this fan for 2 years. I work at a very dusty environment and this fan has worked great. It has survived 2 brutal summers.

powerful... paperweights recommended esp on high speed
not whisper quiet but fabulous fan that got us through heat after a move with initially no a/c. still using it. assembly was daunting for low-confidence assembler person but took it one step at a time, using a sturdy table with a comforter cradling the very heavy motor and the stand, resting on adjacent ladderback chair with a pillow under it. called Global number twice and getting questions re assembly answered was like pulling teeth but did get answer to very specific question re how far to attempt to tighten a certain nut or bolt past first resistance. almost dropped a screw in the motor and was glad i didn't. took three days of nervous attempts but i felt confident it was securely assembled at the end by carefully following instructions and using the right tools which i had to buy in the process.i felt like I'd assembled a Boeing aircraft afterward. it's still holding together sturdily and working fine (fortunately it didn't need any actual motor assembly) after daily use all summer
