Enter the bad guy. Mixture of Hot Guy but with really ...
I had to have this little tidbit because it was written by Tessa Dawn. I usually steer clear of the really short books because you can never really get a full sense of characters and story in them. However once again Ms. Dawn has proven me wrong. Right out of the box I knew the main characters life, how she felt about her family, her first time out on her own to make a living. She is also a bit sneaky in that she doesn't really know exactly how to do what she says she can...Enter the bad guy. Mixture of Hot Guy but with really bad intentions. This is not an HEA. This is a dark tale and it leaves you wondering until the very end if our leading lady is going to make it out alive. On top of that there are some laughs mixed in as well..I always find that cool. All in all I really enjoyed this short journey and even though there is no cliff hanger(Thank Goodness) I could see a series here if Tessa had a mind to do it. If not treat yourself to this one and get lost for a time wondering what happens next.

Gothic Mom's Book Review
Today's review is on Daywalker: The Beginning-Nightwalkers, #1 by J. C. StoneDaywalker is a fantastic read that captures the reader instantly, and takes them on a wild and crazy ride along with its main character Lacy Logan. At just 21-years-old, Lacy is excited to be opening her own business as a Paranormal Investigator. Her career is cut short however when a hotter-than-hell, gorgeous man appears in her office, and literally sucks the life out of her and vanishes. She doesn't know it, but she is a Daywalker. And Nightwalkers, like the one that attacked her, seek out supernaturals like her to take their power so that they can walk in the sun.Everything about Daywalker is perfect except..........it's just to short!! At just 38ish pages, I feel a little jilted. I would love to see this as a full-length book. *hint, hint*4 of 5 starsAvailable at Amazon

What? That's all?
A very short, and I do mean short, novella originally written by Tessa under her pen name J C Stone. Great story line with so much potential. Loved Lacy's positive attitude. Lacy Logan strikes out on her own, opening a paranormal investigation setvice. Her first day on the job is unfortunately her last. From the moment she looked up and saw the man in black, life as she knew it was over. Lacy with her new sidekick Skippy set out to find the man in black. Hopefully she can get her life back and if not, maybe the answer to the question, Why?

This mysterious man has taken something from her and she knows it and wants it back.
The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I got this book as a free download from Amazon.Lacy Logan is sitting in her new office willing the phone to ring. She has just opened her own Paranormal investigations business. This man appears and then just disappears right before her eyes. This mysterious man has taken something from her and she knows it and wants it back. So what does Lacy do? She hunts him down, after all she is an investigator.Lacy is one tough chic. She doesn't just sit around and take what ever is dealt her. She will ascess her situation and figure out what her next move will be. She is not going down without fighting back. She pays attention to what she is being told and uses it to her advantage. I would love to have known more about Lacy and her being a Daywalker. If only Daywalker had been longer. We need more Daywalkers!!!

I Didn't Want It To End!!
There are a few authors out there that I will stop everything for, just to read their work. Their use of the English language to create a world that captures me in the first paragraph is unmatched. Tessa Dawn has done this time and time again with her work...and has not disappointed with Daywalker. Her short story quickly takes us into a world filled with supernatural suspense and terror and as always...she leaves us wanting more. Her original ideas mixed with compelling and complex characters take Dark Fantasy to an entirely new level. I am intrigued by this character and I hope I have a chance to read more of her.

A little Tessa Dawn for younger readers
I would have let my kids read this in middle school. More of a ghost story than anything else. Brief mention of unbuttoning shirt and a kiss used as a trick to kill a demon thing. Not explicit at all.

If you like things that go bump in the night...
If you like a heroine with a backbone and snark well, look no further! Lacy Logan is new to the paranormal investigation business and she finds herself smack dab in the middle of something she coud have never anticipated. This story has something for everyone, from the dark and intense to the light and hilarious. Lacy had me shaking my head laughing one minute and biting my nails the next.Daywalker is fast paced and exciting, the writing is amazing and you'll be sucked right in. Definitely check this book out, you won't be disappointed.

ENJOYABLE JUST NEED MORE....
ENJOYED THE NOVEL. I NORMALLY DO NOT READ SHORT STORIES DUE TO THERE NEVER BEING ENOUGH TO REALLY GRAB MY INTEREST THEN KEEP IT HOWEVER THE BOOK WAS ENJOYABLE. I JUST NEED MORE "MEAT AND POTATOES" TO SINK MY TEETH INTO. HOPEFULLY, THIS WILL DEVELOP INTO SOMETHING MORE!

amazingly funny twist to an old legend
I loved this story - throwing us into battle on the first page, the protagonis Lacey, a young woman setting out on her first business venture - a paranormal detective agency, comes face to face with her subject matter a little too closely leading to a drastic change in her life and direction. The writer is amazingly funny and I was laughing out loud from the first paragraph. A normally dark subject was imbued with real comedy. With the pithy voice-over from Lacey and the fast paced action, the author manages to fit into a few short chapters a tale rich in excitement and character depth. My only criticism is the speed is too fast at times and certain scenes could have been improved with filling out and the last act of the story was over too quickly with little depth to it. However it really is a brilliant short story well worth reading just for the dialogue itself.I am really looking forward to a sequel
