Blood Genesis: Prequel to the Blood Curse Series

Short and sad
Ok I've read the first book in this series ages ago but thought it reminded me too much of the Dark Carpathian series so wasn't too keen to continue. Spotting this prequel I thought why not because I've a couple of friends who absolutely adore this series. I found it interesting to get the views of the two crucial Princes before the curse was upon them and my heart went out to the brave young woman who became a cruel victim of man's greed and lust for power. I might actually give this series another go having read this but like all bibliophiles there's never enough time to read everything that tempts me.

Short and violent
It didn't take long to read, it's a very short story and quite brutal from the start. As a prequel to the series, it tells of events leading up to the curse of their race mainly from the view of Jessinia, the last female of their race who is about to be sacrificed on the orders of the prince, who believes that once the last female is sacrificed, the gods will grant him untold power. There is nothing pleasant about this book. Jessinia is about to be ritually killed, her lover must promise her that he will not sacrifice himself and must accept her death to safeguard the future of their race when the gods take revenge.

Caught my imagination from the very first page.
This book caught my imagination, from the very first page, and held it all the way through.I am eager to start the next book right away. The author creates very believable characters.I love the way she writes.I had never heard of her before today, but I am a fan already.
