Absolute fire burning beast.
This portable stove is a beast! I purchased the large size and the pictures in the product description are about true to size. I wear a medium size glove and my hand can easily fit inside the burn chamber with my fingers spread out. This is no lightweight backpacking stove either. The construction is very good. It has a thick gauge steel and is very sturdy and robust. I burned several branches in in for a good, solid 20-30 minutes nonstop and there were no signs of warpage.Let me say, if you intend on burning this stove for a while twigs are not going to last. I was constantly feeding it with pieces and it was almost burning through them as fast as I was putting them in. The air flow seemed to be excellent. Once the fire is established, this would be a good candidate for pieces of wood 2-3 inches in diameter to keep a sustained fire that didn't need constant attention. I think it would probably also do good with charcoal. The grate in the bottom of the burn chamber has large openings that a finger could fit through so wood pellets wouldn't work. The one and only con to this stove was the blue protective cling wrap that was on it. It was on everything, both sides. Be prepared for a good 10-15 minutes picking it off. Even then, especially around the hinges and some of the rivets, it is easier just to leave it and let it burn off. For the cost and the value here it's an absolute must. If you enjoy these types of wood burning stoves it's a great addition. Also given it's size, it would make a great small fire pit for something like car camping or in emergency situations.

The blue plastic should have been removed by the manufacturer.
For the manufacturer to leave the plastic in place then assemble the product is ridiculous. There is blue plastic beneath parts that are riveted in place and others that are folded over which traps the plastic. Therefore, it can't be removed without removing rivets which is not acceptable for a new product. It should not require tools and skills that people don't have to make the product usable. So, as a result, when first used, it will smell of burned plastic. This is not acceptable. The burning plastic is a carcinogen that I don't want near my food.To make the removal of the plastic easier on the inside of the stove and on the hinges, I removed the long pins holding the hinges together. But, this should also not be required. The quality of the materials used in the stove is good. Once the plastic is gone, it will be a good stove, but the manufacturer needs to get with the program where the plastic is concerned.

Foil is super annoying!
Then plastic wrap around this was the most annoying ever! It broke all my nails to get the foil off, especially in between the grill. It took me 2 weeks to get it to look semi presentable and usable. I still have foil left around the screws that I cannot get off. I used this once and the grill itself is ok for what it is but the foil literally took all excitement from me.

GARBAGE! Feb 2022-NOT made from stainless anymore!!! Rusted after first use!!!
UPDATE: I wrote the initial review on the same day I tested the stove. I came outside the next morning to find it covered in rust on the inside!!! WTF? So apparently after receiving so many positive reviews on Amazon and YouTube, they decided they could cheapen the product (and add to their profits) even more by using an even lesser grade of steel. Did they really think no one would notice? Avoid this steaming pile of Chinese crap.Initial review: So this was $2 less than the RedCamp listing, the RedCamp folks are selling it with the blue film already removed. I didn't think removing the film would be a big deal, but 20 minutes later, it actually is. I fired up and burned a large stack of twigs for over an hour to burn off the little bits of blue plastic, it burns HOT and fast. The removable grill plate that you are supposed to put your food or pot on is too weak, and mine has sagged a little from the intense heat. I wish the top grill was made as thick as the bottom mesh portion that holds the burning wood and ash. I hope they can improve the design, it does a good job with twigs and small sticks with a small footprint. I was able to bring to a rolling boil 24 oz of water at 75 degrees ambient temperature in 4 minutes.

Perfect family of four Cook Stove
We cooked our entire meal on this compact, but surprisingly hefty little wood stove. My husband had the most fun with it, lighting it, cooking on it and serving up our hamburgers and hot dogs. It held up to our cast-iron skillet and coffee pot quite well, also stayed hot for awhile under windy conditions. I bought two of the larger stoves, one for my pack and one for his. But one stove was more then enough for our backyard excursion. We hope to do more away from home, as we get more acquainted with camping.
