WE live in a very popular beach area in Florida and it gets hot here. The dogs love to lay on the gel cooling mats I bought from AKC and I wanted to try this one. This one is not nearly as cooling. It does slide around on hardwood and the dogs slip on it. It feels cool to the touch but is quickly heated. The gel ones do not do that.

On a cool day, too cold. We just put her blanket in it. She loves the bed and its perfect in size. We put it at the end of the bed and voila we all have our spaces!

Feral cats seem to prefer this bed to others during summer. I imagine they do feel cooler with the padding used in the bed. During the winter, they will use it sparingly. I think it was worth the money.

While this pad IS cool, when in use it scrunches up anytime the dog is on it so that it becomes a wad. It also does not retain the coolness for very long, but warms up from the body heat from the dog.

I have a Samoyed who likes to sleep on the kitchen tile. I bought this hoping it would be a cooler way for him to sleep near me in my home office. First of all this mat is so light and thin that my dog just chewed it up and tried using it as a toy. Second it wasn’t very cooling at all. I returned it.

This is a decent and good item, especially considering the price. It's the perfect size for a small dog or cat.
