Trust the reviews here... I am so glad I did
This is a five star drum set considering the price. I've compared it to the Questlove breakbeats and while the sets are very similar the safari has nicer hardware. Love the bass drum as it is unexpectedly punchy given its size. The toms are adequate. Be warned the snare may not be considered acceptable to everyone though I found adequate enough and perhaps only a drummer would notice it imperfections but certainly not the audience. Small portable economical Add a Mienl MCS cymbal pack and a hardware pack from pacific drums and percussion and you have a decent new set for less than you might find a midrange used set. No buyers regret. Great for jazz and small clubs and venues. Only a drummer who needs to be surrounded by drums and gear would turn up his/her nose at this little gem for drummers on a budget. Don't let the price or size fool you.

WHOA!!!!
Looks, high quality, and most importantly, GREAT SOUND!!!! Looking at this set just sitting there gives the impression that nothing BIG could come out of them.....BIG MISTAKE!!! I put this kit through 8 hours of rigorous beating and never once felt that I was not hearing any single drum. This kit is perfectly balanced in sound as each instrument compliments each other and is defined in it's own personal role in the scheme of the kit. Every instrument stands out on it's own, no matter how many notes are being percussively executed. The 16" bass drum is something to behold. Do not approach this kit on size alone, but maybe more with soul. This kit is an old soul.....and has quite the 'throaty' voice that is something to contend with. A few people walked in as I was putting the kit through it's paces, and they simply could not believe that much sound was coming from something so little......Miking this kit is a whole different world of praises not able to be expressed in words. I had a weird feeling about this kit.....and I was right. Expect nothing but BIG surprises from this little behemoth......It will literally leave you stunned.....and maybe a bit sore after trying to conquer it......but dont worry, it will still be there in the morning, all pepped up and ready for your abuse ;)Thanks Sonor, you hit it out of the park on this one.......

Smaller sized kit, great sound, perfect price
Previously I had owned a Gretsch Catalina club jazz mod set and that was just way too big for the space I had, along with my own needs. I looked at this kit for probably a month if not two and decided on it. I couldn't have been more right. As long as you tune it up, it can sound like anything you like. It's great on space and it plays well for the price.

Really fub to plat, easy to move
I was tired of hauling a huge kit to and from. I got this after reading and reading watching and watching endless reviews. I replaced all the heads eventually with Evans and the only good kick heads I could find by Aquarian. Over gigged with it but mainly use it for practice sessions. It holds its own when properly mic'd. It fits in my 2011 civic 4 door no problem at all.

GREETINGS FROM PANAMA, LATIN JAZZ AND SALSA!!
Nice kit with astounding sound, particularly the bass drum. If you purchase this Sonor SSE 12 Bop C1 RGS 4-Piece Safari Drum kit be very careful when unpacking, the washers are mounted on the threaded bars and held on them by rubber caps that may fall out in transportation. Sonnor should reconsider their packaging and tie those washers together with their corresponding wingnuts.Since I wanted lightweight I purchased 4 p Millenium 202CH Hardware Set Light from Thomann (http://www.thomann.de/gb/millenium_202ch_hardware_set_light.htm?sid=3963790aafa2cd0b3a2153cd46b29a54), with the outstanding performance of a plying hi-hat inner rod. Forget about searching this part inside your hardware bag, it folds nicely alongside the hi-hat lower part!As an additional advice, do not buy drum bags in advance relying on Sonnor’s nominal measures, since legs and other parts are not fixed by drum screws as with most other brands, but by wingnuts that protrude considerably from the shells. Wait until you receive your kit and take measures!Apart from that, let me tell you that I bought the Red Sparkle option and I am very glad with it. I hope you’ll enjoy yours too!! Best wishes and… KEEP GROOVING HIGH!!David Sempau – Catalan musician residing in Panama – [email protected]

Sonor Wonder Kit
I had a huge set of Tama Starclassics with every extra you can imagine that I loved dearly and had to sell because I thought I was going to die.Obviously I survived surgery and went to a music store to see if I could still play, turns out I could.I wanted to go small this time and was trying out a lot of small kits in the thousand dollar range that were not impressing me, I was leaving the store and my wife passed by one of these kits and suggested I try them. This Sonor kit is beyond amazing, without getting too technical lets say that the sound of these drums are on par or better than drums costing three times as much.I wanted small this time but I wanted good, this Sonor kit is it, I got the blue sparkle.I put some Evans 360's on them, and I have to tell you, they sound almost as good as my $5000 Starclassics did.Great value for the money, snap one of these Sonor's up while they are still cheap, get some decent hardware and cymbals and you will be good to go....... now.Small set but BIG sound, you will not be disappointed. Many videos on you tube of Sonor Wonder Kit.Enjoy, I know I am.

The Best Drum Set!
This drum set is the best set I have ever used. My opinion that it's stock sound sounds better than a $1,000 Pearl. I highly recommend that you get this set!
