Works great (as advertised)
I bought this to connect an Amazon Firestick to my television, so the Firestick wasn't hanging & visible behind the television. This adapter is connected in between the Firestick and an HDMI cable that plugs into the television. The HDMI cable is hidden behind the drywall, so for me it makes the most sense (and looks best) to connect it this way.

I couldn't test 8k but 4K I could.
Found my 2 longest HDMI cables , and hooked them up to my devices and TV, ran a few test videos. Phone, PC, and BlueRay player, ... I could not tell the difference between having the 30' cables VS 6' cables streaming 4K.

Stable Quality
Ran cat5 100 ft and gave me a clear hdmi signal. Made from metal so very sturdy. Pleased with results.

I extended some cables to go from my pc to my tv, they support HDMI 2.1 and 4k video at 120hz

Didn't work for my Xbox Series X
I purchased this coupler to connect 2 HDMI cables from my Xbox Series X to Razer Raptor Monitor. I received a "signal not recognized" error message on the monitor. The set-up works fine without the coupler. For what its worth - the HDMI cables were recent purchases and had all the latest throughput ratings. So this coupler was unfortunately a no-go. Construction is solid and it seems to use high quality materials. However - the HDMI connections are very tight and it took force to insert and extract the male HDMI cable connection. Shouldn't be this way...

Doesn't work with my Google Chromecast (Google TV)
Doesn't work with Google Chromecast (Google TV, which is 1080p); no signal. An older HDMI 1.3 coupler (Rocketfish RF-G1172) worked just fine.

Avoid like the plague!!
Damn things nearly damaged my monitor and tv! Had two small runs 10’ cables that I was connecting with this coupler. Whenever I used this with any of my cables it would make my monitor and TV flicker violently in and out along with an audible pop from my speakers. Ran cables by themselves without this and everything worked just fine so I narrowed it down to BOTH of these couplers in the bag. I wasn’t going to chance ruining my expensive monitor or LG OLED tv.FYI I had my PS5 hooked up with this if that makes any difference.
