Finally, a stud finder that actually makes sense
This thing is a game changer compared to the single-beep stud finders I’ve used before. Instead of guessing where the edges are, it lights up the entire width of the stud at once — red lights across the whole span with a green center light marking the exact middle. No more sliding back and forth trying to triangulate the edges yourself. I could see the full stud outline in one pass, which made it so much easier to know exactly where to drive a screw or nail without hitting the edge. Fast, accurate, and genuinely easy to use. Highly recommend if you’re tired of the trial-and-error with cheaper sensors.

Fast, Accurate, and Easy to Use
This stud finder works exactly as expected and makes locating studs quick and easy. The wide scanning area is much more convenient than traditional stud finders, and the LED lights clearly show the stud edges and center, making it easy to mark the correct location. It’s simple to use right out of the box, feels well made, and has been consistently accurate on every project I’ve used it for. Whether you’re hanging TVs, shelves, mirrors, or pictures, this tool saves time and eliminates the guesswork. Overall, it’s a reliable, high-quality stud finder that I would definitely recommend.

This sensor is worth the purchase.
Really enjoyed the feature of this sensor. I needed to cut a hole in my wall for a washer dryer port and knew there would be some electrical wires around the area I needed to cut out. This sensor not only lit up when I hit a wire it also used small lights to show the stud clearly from edge to edge. Made identifying where to cut so much easier and took the worry out of the process. I would recommend this to anyone!

Perfect DIY-ers Tool
I purchased the Franklin Sensors ProSensor M210 to speed up finding studs, and it does exactly what it says it will do. The 13-sensor array provides fast and accurate readings, while the live wire detection adds peace of mind. Responsive, easy to use, and took a lot of guesswork out of the job. Great for DIY-ers like me.

Accurate and Precise. Only works with alkaline or fully-charged rechargeable batteries.
I own an older model of Franklin Sensors' stud finder, and I bought this newer model to increase the precision of my stud detection. The newer model has more LEDs with reduced spacing between LEDs, which makes it easier to identify the exact center of your studs. The new model appears to be very accurate and precise. I also appreciate the small bubble-level, which helps you keep the tool horizontal during usage, further improving the accuracy. I'm just giving it 4 stars not 5 for 2 reasons: 1) The older+cheaper stud finder from Franklin Sensors seems to function fine with NiMH rechargeable AA batteries that are charged > 1.3 volts. This means that if your AA batteries are charged half-way, the older model will work fine. The newer model doesn't light up unless the AA batteries are >= 1.4 volts (maybe 1.35... maybe 1.38... I don't know exactly). The NOMINAL voltage of NiMH rechargeable AA batteries is 1.2 volts. In practice, high-quality AA NiMH rechargeable batteries (Sanyo Eneloop, Amazon Basics, etc) can reach a voltage slightly above 1.4 volts when they're fully charged. At 90% charge, the voltage generally drops somewhere between 1.3 and 1.4. I've used this stud finder with freshly-charged high-quality NiMH AA batteries, and it works great. On one project, I then tried to use it again the next day with those batteries after maybe just 20 minutes of usage the prior day, and it wouldn't turn on. After I recharged my batteries to 100%, it continued to work. Alkaline AA batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.5V. I don't like to use disposable batteries because I find them to be wasteful. I have lots of devices that will function fine with rechargeable batteries that have a voltage > 1.2V or 1.3V. It's unfortunate that this stud finder can only work with batteries charged > 90%. For me, it just means that I have to fully charge a pair of batteries before I use the tool. Since I know this, it's OK, but it's inconvenient. I think I would still use the new one that requires fully-recharged batteries (>90%) over the older one that will work fine with moderately-charged batteries (>50%) since the new one is more precise and has the convenient integrated level. Still, Franklin Sensors could have added a voltage regulator circuit to this tool that would have allowed it to operate totally fine with batteries >1.3V, which would have made it much more convenient to use. If you're a professional remodeler who needs to find a lot of studs over the course of an entire day, you probably need to bring a spare pair of AA rechargeable batteries plus a charger to your job site and possibly recharge and swap the batteries at least once per day to use this tool. 2) They really could have done a better job designing the cover for the battery compartment. It's actually better on this model than the older model, but neither are great. It's cumbersome to open the battery compartment, and, over time, the cover can get loose while you're using the tool. They could have designed the cover with a simple hinge and thumbscrew or some other locking mechanism that would be less prone to loosening over time. It's still a great tool. Despite the shortcomings, it's still the best stud finder that I've ever used. I mounted some slat walls and shelf brackets in a storage closet in my house, and I was able to easily find the center point of the studs behind my drywall with this stud finder.

Amazing stud finder
This stud finder is better than ones I have had in the past. We just bought a new house and have many things to hang. I like how it finds the center and edges of the stud. It seems to find electrical wires better but still working on how to improve on that.

UNEXPECTEDLY LIFE AFFIRMING!!!
Dude, I did not know that what my life has been missing this whole time was this stud finder! BLUF: - worth paying extra - wish I'd bought this YEARS ago - my new go-to housewarming gift! - NO calibration required: I'm guessing because it covers a long enough area that some part inevitably covers a piece of empty drywall and it calibrates off of that. - Embedded level: so much more useful than you would think - Embedded pencil slot: adorable, convenient, and thoughtful! I've been buying cheap stuff finders for years and they have all let me down. They all kinda work, but the uncertainty has caused some errors. It turns out, when you use a more reliable tool, not only is the job better, but I'm WAY more likely to engage with hanging stuff up now! I'm running around the house hanging up pictures left and right, installing shelving... it's been AWESOME!! This has made these jobs so easy, that I taught my 8yo and 10yo to use it and they each installed their own towel holders!

Rises above the pack
Ok, as sensors go this seems an excellent one at a mid range price point. Still haven't quite established why it occasionally flies up a garden path identifying elements which clearly don't exist. But certainly more reliable than many.

Excellent device. Accurate and well made.
It works as all the videos depict it to. With the ton of LED’s it makes the job easier to see and way easier for a beginner to use. Plus, it has the green light to show the centre of the stud. This model also shows electrical signals within the wall. Again, easy to read and the nature of the meter essentially gives you a signal strength. It’s big, and that may be a drawback and definitely could be in tight areas. But I thought about that and most of the times I’ve ever used a stud finder was in a larger area to hang something that needs space. So no issue for me. The size is nice as it provides a good grip and a spirit level allows you to keep things square. This Franklin works nicely. I can see why people speak highly of it. Whether the form factor works for you or not, the electronic element of it is top tier. It plastic but well made. Takes two AA batteries. I popped two Energizer Lithiums inside it in case I leave it for a while, I don’t want alkalines to leak. I think somewhere it said not to use rechargeable batteries. Recommended

Brilliant stud finder!
Brilliant stud finder. Have used quite a few different cheaper ones over the years and this surpasses them all. Dearer than a lot of others but definitely worth the money. Easy to use and comes with a little pencil to mark your stud centre. Would recommend to others.
