Q: When the second, standard, switch is turned off, the motion sensor goes dead. Neither manual nor sensor ON works. If I turn on the 3way, it works.

The instructions provided are confusing, but the upshot is that you do not wire this motion sensor in a standard 3-way configuration, but instead have to re-wire the other 3-way switch on the circuit. Basically you have to permanently connect the common wire to one of the travelers on the normal 3-way switch. The motion sensor then can detect the state of the other switch, while also continuously getting power itself, and then it can turn the other traveler on or off appropriately to achieve a '3 way switch effect'. It's doing something more clever and complicated than simply being a traditional 3-way switch, but the instructions do no make this clear, and thus are really pretty confusing at first if you are either expecting a normal 3 way config, or are hoping to just install this as a drop-in replacement for an existing standard 3 way switch.

Q: I am gonna use 2 of these on one light, would you please refer me to the appropriate schematics to make sure I hook up everything properly?

If you are talking about a 3-way switch setup (where either switch can turn the lights on or off), you can only put one of these on the circuit. The other switch has to be a standard 3-way switch with modified wiring.If you want something where either motion sensor can turn on a light but not necessarily turn it off, that would be possible. In that case you just have to put the two motion sensors in parallel to the light.

Q: Will normal room lighting prevent lights from turning on automatically at night?

You can set the light to go on with motion only in the dark or motion regardless of the room being light or dark.

Q: anyone had a problem with it not turning off?

I had the same problem but fixed it with a higher watt bulb. A 15 watt bulb works for me!
