Great lure for grass

Good action, very versatile. I would not recommend throwing it in weedy areas, but works phenomenally in rocky conditions

There are so many different colors of this exact lure, but I recently received this one in the “Phantom Watermelon Red Craw” color and pattern. The color is amazing and is similar to the color pattern I would use with a plastic worm, but what I didn’t realize until I received it is that it is actually see through when you hold it up to the light. In bright light, you can see the rattles and chambers inside separating the rattles, which makes this even better than I had expected. Light can reflect and shine through even better. The rattles have a very distinct sound, and are different than other lipless crank baits that I own. I have many different brands of crank baits, but I am always drawn back to this Strike King Red Eye Shad.

Caught an entire tree on my first cast! Can you imagine the value there? All the lumber for just the cost of this one lure. And on my first try too!

Love the weight and attention these kinds of rattle traps get but the eyes don’t stick well on these guys. The fell off multiple times but luckily I was able to use hardhead to stick em back on, but last night one fell off while fishing and I couldn’t get it back. I’ve since painted the empty section and glued on some eyes from an old spare frog.
