Copilot Lift - Multi Sport Kid's Halter for Learning to ski, Snowboard, Skate, Ride a Bike

Great first time experience
I bought this for my 2.5 year old to assist with the CoPilot Ski Harness. I knew that I would want an easy handle to help pick him off the snow and to help load and unload the chairlifts. It fit easily over his clothes and ski jacket. There is plenty of strap length for various child sizes. The shoulder straps stayed in place with the "V" design in back. The handle was easy to grab with gloves on. The waist straps tuck into the shoulder loops easily and the shoulder straps double back at the strap adjusters. It would be nice to have a material sleeve to thread the shoulder belt strap through so it doesn't flap near the face. I ended up just tucking them into the waist belt. This works well for skiing with the bulky clothes on, but as it is marketed for multiple sports, I would imagine it could be uncomfortable with lightweight clothing on for biking. The straps are not padded in any way so if any pressure is applied during swimming it could cause chaffing/abrasions. With that aside, I wasn't looking for a multi-sport harness (it's just marketed for that). My main focus was to use this strictly as a lift harness during skiing. We had great day and it held up well. Even the lifty commented on how nice it was to have a handle to lift him into the chair. It should hold up for a while as most of the lifting stress is on the waist belt which is thick and has no seams to stress. Overall I'm very impressed with the design and how easily it is to work with. Two things I could suggest-- as above providing loops to hold excess shoulder strap, and sell accessory padding for the straps for warm weather sports. Without those two improvements, I would still buy it without question, especially for skiing. I'll try to remember to update this at the end of the ski season.

Great for risk taking 18 month old with room to grow
Bought this for my 18 month old son who likes to drop himself into rivers, streams and puddles. Or a good way to catch him as he jumps off the dining table or runs full speed down the hill in our front yard while I'm fully pregnant.I expect to get lots of use out of it between our Hike it Baby adventures, swimming and other sports. My child is a risk taker, now I can foster his indendence.

CoPilot LIFT Multi-Sport Halter
I got this to teach aid in teaching my child how to ski. Its easy to put on, and not cumbersome or bulky to where they dont like it. If you are an experienced skier and are able to ski close to your child there is no need for the leashes or ropes. This is a great low profile way to help them up, guide them, and make sure they are safe on the chair lift. It is simple, but well constructed. So far it has worked great!! I think I am going to use it to help teach them to ride a bike.

ex-ski instrustor recommended
This works great in conjunction with the CoPilot Ski Trainer. I was a full-time ski instructor for several years, and highly recommended the CoPilot over the other harness (one with the "steering" built in). However, even if your child is able to ski (or board) on their own, this is a handy item to have them wear to both help them up when they do fall, and keep them secure on the chairlift. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Great for Skiing - We love it!
We used this last year for my then 3 year old. He is turning 4 soon and we'll be using it again. Both my husband and I could easily pick up our son and put him on and off the chairlift, and help him when he fell down. I would highly recommend this for any skiing family! This is easy to adjust, and lightweight. It didn't bother him to wear it, and was just what we were looking for!

Short distance walking support
So Easy to click on, plus I bring it along for my little one who has CP for short distance walking, without breaking my own back. Thumbs up!

Bought for special needs
We have two special needs kids. We bought this as an alternative to buying the expensive harnesses for children who have wandering issues. We bought a dog leash to go on the back and it works great.

It's also terribly uncomfortable for you kid because the straps are unpadded ...
OK. The handle is too large and sits too far off the body meaning that you have to use a whole lot more force to lift a child up because there's a longer length. It's not a problem for my husband because he's 6'4", but I'm 5'2." I end up putting my hand behind the black part of the harness and don't use the handle. It's also terribly uncomfortable for you kid because the straps are unpadded and dig in. It's fine with a snowsuit, but would probably hurt if used for swimming or teaching your kid how to ride a bike.
