A spatio-temporal agent is always ready to give hisโฆ livesโฆ for the mission?! Valerian, shot to death in an Indian fortress. Valerian, dead in 19th century London. Valerian, gunned down in San Francisco's Chinatownโฆ And Laureline, paired up with an unpleasantly arrogant historian from Galaxity, forced to witness every demise of the man she loves on a succession of re-enacted pieces of human history. A very strange case that will take the two spatio-temporal agents to the limits of their endurance as they hunt down the mysterious architect of the false Earthsโฆ. Review: Great comic! - Great comic. One of my favourites of Valerian and Laureline books. Old classic. With touch of the older drawing style and inks. Like it a lot. Review: Five Stars - Excellent...Like always Mezieres and Christin make a good team.

A surprising and good story, rather shocking in parts as Valerian dies again and again and again. But some people just take artistic license too far. I like better later stories but it is still a good one. European comic=literature. At least some times.

One of the Best of the Series
This is Valerian at its best. A wild, weird tale that is impossible to guess the ending of incorporating tons of sci-fi elements into an amazing whole. I've just read three of these volumes in a row and this one was the most fun.

into book 7
This was another great tongue in cheek adventure. Love the 60s style feminism going on between Laureline and the lady she works with on this. Plus there are clones and they are handled very well.

How comics should be
An intricate and intelligent story where the twists and turns in the exposition are comparable to a current Doctor Who script. Some nice touches of humour arise from the reversal of the roles, with the woman moving things forward while her male companion is somewhat laid back and feckless. Some stunning scenes which show that in space the top of the page is not necessarily up.
