Works great. No programming needed.
I have a 20+ year old Onkyo TS-SR800 with a large remote, RC-510M, that hasn't worked very well for years. Decided to replace it, but was skeptical that I’d find a compatible remote for a receiver that old. I am pleasantly surprised. This remote handles all the functions I need (on/off, volume, input source) flawlessly. I haven’t experienced the problem with loose batteries that some have mentioned, but if that crops up it’s easily fixable. This remote is an inexpensive solution to a minor problem that’s bugged me for years.

Very Good Remote
Does the job for my Onkyo receiver. Did have to do one minor alteration. The battery compartment is a bit too big. It allowed the batteries to become disengaged. I fixed by placing a small piece of foam on the compartment "door".

No problems at all with my 2003 Onkyo receiver. I’d recommend putting a piece of foam or folded up paper on top of the batteries to keep them from moving around though. There is nothing to keep the batteries in place except the springs on the positive terminals.

I'm glad I read reviews before purchasing. Out of the package I couldn't get it to work. I look up programming instructions on line, but nothing worked. Then I remembered that some said the batteries were loose. I checked, and the batteries were loose.....put them back into place, and VOILA! It worked without programming! I will have to put something in the case to hold the batteries in place. No big deal considering the price and the performance!

Works with my Onkho HTR540 receiver!
My original RC649M remote worked fine but the volume control stopped working a long time ago. Got tired of getting up to adjust the volume. Installed the batteries, AAA (not included BTW) and it works perfectly.

Doesn’t work well.
Works once in awhile, the batteries constantly move around and are too loose. Wouldn’t buy again

Works great for our onkyo system however thr battery falls out so each time we need to adjust the volume we have to take the back off to push the battery back into place. Annoying, but grateful to have a remote that worked with our system.
