25 Laminated Fry First Hundred Beginning Preschool sight word flashcards (list 1)

These are great. Our pre-schooler is about to begin learning 'sight words' in his school, and they will be using 'Fry's First 100' words. Sight words are words that new readers learn and commit to memory as they are found very frequently in the English language and help facilitate accelerated literacy. These cards are printed in nice bold letters and laminated. We could have printed them from the internet, but having them in this format makes them a lot more durable and easy to use. Because they are individual cards, the child also doesn't become distracted or confused by seeing the words in a list. These cards will easily tolerate repeated use, for anyone with smaller children or a family on the way. Definitely recommended for anyone with a child who's learned the alphabet, the letter sounds (phonics) and is beginning to sound out words. As he or she begins sounding out more words and basic sentences, the 'sight' words become an asset in their reading ability.

As a busy mama to a toddler and an infant, the thought of having to make these up and print them out myself was daunting. I don’t even have time to fold my laundry! These were just what I wanted—well made and a good price. The only thing that bothered me is that the font used makes a capital “I” (i) without the bottom and top horizontal lines. Common, sure, but confusing for my 2.5 year old whose also commiting lowercase “l” (L) and the number one to memory. Generally little ones are taught capital “I” with the horizontal lines, so I wish this font reflected that. It was a pretty easy fix with a black sharpie, but she was frustrated to start with.

Our family will definitely be ordering more sets from Teach at Daycare.📌Update:We haven't been using these for very long, yet one of the cards laminate is coming apart after it was set in a small amount of condensation from a cup for a few seconds. I'm hoping it is just this one card that has a random mess up with weaker edges, if so I will still happily purchase more set. Great tool & the kids are enjoying them. If the laminate pulls up on more, I will update this review.

Loved these little time savers! They look professionally made and so convenient. I’ll definitely be ordering more of her products! I’ve already started referring her to other teachers. I ended up getting both the mini size first hundred Fry words and phrases and I’ve already placed another order for number words. As a teacher and a parent of a toddler, this saves me so much time and the prices are reasonable 😃
