A great alternative to ziplock bags!
I use a lot of ziplock bags every day…well I used to anyways. The other day my friend told me about these reusable silicone bags that you can get at the store so I got some. They were kind of expensive but I figured I can just get a refund if I don’t like them. I’m trying to convert more of my disposable kitchen items to be more eco-friendly. So between these bags, swedish dishcloths, and silicone baking mats, I think I’m off to a good start! The one I got is in aqua, it says on the packaging that its 15-ounce.I tried it out immediately once I got home. My first impression was that the material was very thick and rubbery…in a good way. I was a bit skeptical about how it closes since it seemed kind of flimsy but to my surprise it actually closes very securely. Its funny actually after I closed it I struggled to get it back open again. So yeah, the seal will definitely seal your food. The next day I used it to bring my sandwich to work (I usually use a regular baggie). Of course I gave it a good wash beforehand. One thing thats great about the silicone is it keeps the shape of your food…in other words my sandwich didn’t squashed like it sometimes does in my work bag. There wasn’t any noticeable smell or anything either coming from the silicone…my sandwich tasted exactly the same as before so that’s a good thing. I know sometimes if the material is bad it can leave an odor in your food which I think is really gross.Whats even more impressive is that the silicone is microwavable. This actually makes eating lunch super convenient at work…I can just put the whole thing in the microwave for 15 seconds and I’ll get a warm meal. Whereas when I used regular baggies I would never get the luxury of eating a warm sandwich. Ive already had a coworker as me about them. I guess it attracts attention when you put something like that in the microwave. Ive never used it on the stove top though it says you can. The idea of putting it over open flame kind of makes me nervous so I think i’ll hold back on that for now.Like others have said they wash up great in the dishwasher too. I don’t use my dishwasher too often though so I just clean them by hand. Just use soap and water…the regular stuff, and leave it to air dry. I always dump the excess water out first otherwise i’ll take that much longer. The bottomline is that they’re great reusable bags. The silicone is high quality and doesn’t have any smell. They’re microwavable and easy to wash as well. My only complaint is that yeah they’re a little hard to open and close. I guess thats a good thing since it means that the seal works well? Or maybe I’m just lacking power in my fingers who knows…Anyways I don’t regret buying this product though it was kind of pricey. Less stuff to the landfill is always a good thing imo.

Everyone should own Stashers!
What a nice surprise to find Amazon offering Stasher-brand reusable silicone bags at a very competitive price! Encourage you to purchase a few in different sizes and to try getting in the habit of using these instead of single-use plastic bags. I’ve tried other less-expensive knock-offs but Stashers are the absolute best on the market! Durable, closes securely, very easy to hand wash and dry, fun colors, simple to store. Here are some suggestions for use: I use the “bowl” style to store my lettuce in the fridge, the “sandwich” size to carry crackers or snacks (a little too small for an actual sandwich), the “quart” size for balls of frozen pesto or pumpkin, the “snack” size for various travel products. Endless uses and infinite functions! If you only want to try one size, start with a “quart/half gallon” or “6 cup bowl.” Please consider trying Shashers to help reduce the overwhelming problem of plastics contaminating our world. Cheering for you from California

Close to perfect
Very sturdy and does a good job of sealing/ keeping things inside. Size is appropriate for large snack or sandwich. Only complaint I have is that the opening is not very big. It is hard to fit a sandwich inside without smushing it.

Wonderful, but so expensive!
I read a review on a "best of Prime Day deals" site that said these were hands-down the best silicone Ziplock bag replacements compared to many others on the market today. And I believe it! I got four of the sandwich bag-sized ones, and it's a perfect size to put enough food for two people for a meal (e.g., beans and rice, casserole-type leftovers, etc.), and it's easy to press air out of it and seal just by pressing the opening together. This is great for me, because I have bad arthritis that gives me grief in opening and closing zip-style bags. The bags stack very nicely flat, too.I love that these can be used for sous vide. I've got an Anova circulator that I haven't used as often as I might because I haven't been happy with the Ziplock bag technique because of the above and don't have room for a vacuum sealer. I love that these bags could go from the freezer directly into a water bath. I even used one to put the portion of meat from a whole chicken that didn't quite get done in my Ninja Foodi (pressure-cooked from frozen) and float it in the middle of the pot with carcass when I was making stock, without any leaks into the bag! I was then able to pull it out, rinse off the broth from the outside, and stick it straight into the refrigerator without having to do anything else to it. I haven't tried to seal liquids into it yet, because I tend to use mason jars for that, but I would not be at all surprised if it would be leak-proof.I just wish these weren't so expensive. I know you get what you pay for, and this is definitely a very high-quality and useful product. Maybe when everyone catches on to how great these are and start buying them in quantity, the price will come down a little. I'd buy a lot more of them for freezing meals if you could, say, get a 5- or 10-pack of the sandwich size for a good bit less per item than these retail for individually (11.99 each on Prime Day).

perfect if you hate throwing so much away like me!
obsessed with these!! i ordered this size and a snack size and love them both. they’re very easy to use and clean which is perfect. they can be a little hard to open, which is honestly a good thing cause that means it’s sealed well! the size is bigger than an average sandwich bag, which is also kind of a plus as well. the material is great i highly recommend these!

Not sandwich size
You literally have to force a sandwich in this bag, and you will mash it while struggling to get it in there. The bag itself is thick silicone and made very well. It also closes very easily. I’m disappointed. If you want sandwich size, look for the quart size. I’ve been trying to find the quart, but I’ve been unable to find it so far.
