Work much better than expected. I use to start my outdoor fire pit. I put a my kindling on the bottom with a log balanced an inch over the kindling. Light a square (not very big maybe an inch by an inch) lights very easily place the square on the kindling and withing a minute I have flames. I have never not had a top notch fire using the Fire Starter Squares and even on windy nights the squares will stay lit. My guess is they burn for about 10 minutes or so.

These bricks do not stay lit longer than a few minutes. Within the time that they are lit, they do not generate enough flame to start a fire even with kindling. I have a small chimenea, adding 3 didn't even do the trick. I ended up having to add charcoal lighter fluid. My advise, go to Walmart by the tiny hay bale looking bricks, they do the trick...if you purchase these, wait until the fire is actually started then pitch the entire package and watch them and your money burn up in flames.

These worked really well. I was worried that this would be a waste of money, but it worked every fire every time. My husband tried to start one without it and I saved the day with this little guy.

These little things work like magic in lighting a fire. It said: Even works when wet. That is absolutely true--well, damp. I accidentally set the package down on a wet spot, and the foil backing had come off of a couple of squares. Well, it lit. Talk about amazing. They do not burn for a long time. However, if your wood is dry, the 10 - 15 minutes of burn time will most likely get your wood burning. I lit 2 because I wasn't sure the wood was seasoned enough. Worked like a charm.

Purchased and shipped this item to my Mother in law for use in her sealed fireplace unit. She's happy which means my wife is happy which means I am allowed to be happy.

We used these to start a campfire and they worked pretty well. It was only a challenge because we used a magnesium fire starter. If I can start a fire with a broken hand, then I'm pretty confident anyone can do it ;).

They light immediately and burn pretty hot.

This was part of a gift and the recipient just told me last night that he likes it and will incorporate it into a survivor package for his fellow campers.
