I purchased this item for my kids, specifically my 10 year old daughter who is really into upcycling. It is really easy to use and fun. It came in a much smaller package than I expected because I didn’t read the details about having to provide your own bottle, but this isn’t a problem. The whole family is having fun using this and the kids are now washing and saving things like chip bags to use as beads instead of just throwing out these bags. I expect to be purchasing this bead maker several times over to gift to all of their friends. At this price, it’s a great go-to birthday present for those last minute invites to classmate parties. Probably a good idea to keep this item stocked in your gift closet.

For what this is, a small plastic device, it is an excellent tool for rolling paper beads. It makes the task faster. You have to remove the long piece near the part where you screw it onto a bottle so that there is an opening for the finished bead to go in the bottle. You also have to hold the bottle between your knees, so that you can turn the handle, maneuver the paper, and keep the bottle steady while you are rolling. The bottle holds a lot of beads. Elmer's all purpose white glue is good because it's easy to apply, gives you time to make adjustments, yet dries fast after application. After you roll about 5 to 10 beads, you should be an expert. Magazine paper works best but I have used light weight scrapbooking paper. The double-sided scrapbook paper is a bit too thick so make the strip shorter. Only the last inch or so will show as the bead. The package shows how to cut the paper, which you can make longer (for larger beads) or shorter (for smaller beads). Do not pull magazine paper too much as you're rolling or it will rip. There are two drawbacks, your choice of bead shapes are limited and 4M needs to make longer metal rolling prongs so that you can make 2" and 3" beads. In all, this is a great little bead winder.

Love this, so much fun for my 9yr old! The beads come out so cute! Only issue is there appears to be a storage container for the beads pictured on the box but there was no container within. That said, the bead maker is the main part and it is a wonderful hobby tool.

This is my favorite new past time! This product is easy to use, very light weight, and adapts for use (it can be put on a plastic bottle to use for storage of beads or held by hand) winds very tight small beads that are great for jewelry. I used with a large group of teens and they loved it too. Durability is good (its still going over a year now) mine is green and very easy to find in the crafting box. I love mine!

I was hoping for a more open and go type of arts and crafts activity, but as you can see there is quite a bit of tedious cutting of paper strips involved. I thought this was misleading because the box description says "paper strips" are included, and the back of the box also has strips of paper pictured. There aren't many 5 year olds with cutting skills like what is needed. Good activity but could be better prepared for little hands.

Easy to use, my students (5th grade) loved it, even the young men were volunteering to make paper beads. It turned out amazing, the whole class was involved. It doesn’t come with a bottle so we used an old 2 liter bottle to attach the roller to. It worked out so well, for being a small attachment it withstood the use we put into it.

What a fun little gadget! We opened this today and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was! I showed my 5 yr and 2 month old how to do it and she was able to do it all by herself! She had probably whipped out 15 of them in about 20 Minutes. It was super nice that it came with all the supplies to get started right away. We followed the suggestion of screwing it on a plastic water bottle and that worked fabulous! It was it easier to hold on to and a fun/ easy way to store the beads she made! My daughter’s own comment was, “this is the best crafting day ever!”

So I ordered a few of these as my church does craft nights and our next craft is paper bead jewelry for Mother’s Day (a suggestion from a lovely lady but one with more time on their hand then the ones who have to put the craft night on) but trying to hand roll enough bead for 30+ people was just not working for me and my bestie we where like this was a crazy idea. So I stumbled across these while looking for a way to simplify our work and not make it a crazy time consuming project and we went from making 50 beads in a hour to 100+ and they all come out so nice and tightly wrapped. We get so much less glue on our fingers then with the hand tool. We have had one have issues with the rods that hold and wrap the paper falling out but I think it is just because we wrapped them to tight and pulled them out trying to get the bead off, because all the other wrappers the rods have stayed in and not broke. We where also able to stick the rod back in and it still worked. I would say if you have to make tons of paper beads for something or just kinda want a easy way to do the craft this thing is really handy. It would works for old kids to older adults because it makes it simple enough for kids and makes it easier for someone with carpal tunnel or and hand wrist issues that would like to do this craft.

Exactly as advertised, easy for 5 year old to use, comes with paper strips for beads but they're on sheets and an adult needs to cut the strips for the child to use. Easy to make the beads, after a couple practice runs my kid could do it without any help.

Make beads out of any kind of paper - I like using metalic papers of all kinds I also use weldbond glue, makes interesting additions to the bead collections. Simple to use but you really need a pop bottle to mount it on so you can hold onto it with your knees and use both hands
