I started collecting watches a few months ago. I have watches from several different makers, but this is my first Russian watch of any kind. I really don't know what my expectations were for this Vostok, but I'm a bit surprised at just how much I like it. It has a bit of heft to it, but not overly so. Just enough to suggest quality. It wears well. Very comfortable. When I first saw the narrow band, I immediately thought to change it. But then I strapped it onto my wrist. Again, it wears very comfortably. The band doesn't dig or bind. Looks are subjective, but to my eyes it fits with the watch. I will probably buy a leather band for it at some point, but just for variety. Speaking of looks, when I first saw the watch in person, it seemed small. But after strapping it on my wrist, it seems perfect. The watch face is very nice looking.If I had to say something negative quality wise, it would be about the stem. After unscrewing it to set the time and date, it seems a bit fragile. Although it works perfectly, it doesn't seem as robust as the rest of the watch.Operationally, the watch has been excellent. The only operational negative is setting the date. You have no choice but to keep winding forward until it's set correctly, although there is a way to speed it up a bit. YouTube it. You'll be happy you did.In conclusion, I'm very happy with this purchase. The watch seems solid, works well and looks great.

I perform mechanic and chemical handling at work. After 6 years I need to send my first Vostok for cleaning. So bought this second Vostok. Haven't broken a Vostok, so sticking with the brand.

Great looking watch and easy to modify. Nautical theme makes it good for summer wear. Can’t wait.
