Great machine!
This HP EliteDesk 800 G3 mini looks like it sat on a shelf its entire life, doesn't look used at all, no dust even. To my surprise, when I booted it up it turned out to be an i5-7600, not an i5-7500 as advertised, hooray! The integrated Intel 630 Graphics feel quick and snappy to work with, great for internet browsing and streaming HD. The main downside is that it ships with only a single 8GB DDR4 stick, so the system is only utilizing one memory channel instead of dual-channel mode, which has a negative impact on performance. Always make sure that you're running in dual-channel mode with matched dimms for maximum performance and responsiveness. Great little unit. The build quality feels amazing. Runs Linux very well after disabling secure boot and Intel ME in the bios. All Intel hardware including an Intel I219-LM Gigabit NIC make this a great little Vpro machine.

GOT SCAMMED
Didn't check unit when arrived, after several months went to set it up, would not work. Heard rattling noise inside case so opened, found loose screw inside, but bigger issue was that there was no solid state drive installed (was supposed to have 256GB drive, screw was from the lock down arm for the SSD), so no operating system, no windows, nothing. Buter Beware.

Dead wifi and bluetooth
The bluetooth and wifi antennas have stopped working. They worked fine for 1 week, then totally stopped. Asked seller to send a replacement for the bluetooth and wifi components. Waiting for a response.

Great little machine for a Plex Server
This machine arrived quickly and looked very lightly used when I took it out of the box which was expected. It booted up to Windows 10 Pro and was usable right away. It was clean inside as well as out and appeared as though the refurbisher really took care in prepping it for re-sale. Ultimately I installed a new SSD in the unoccupied m.2 slot and upgraded it to Windows 11, enabled Wake-on-LAN, paired it with a 5TB USB external hard drive and installed Plex on it to serve my 600+ movie collection. I added an Alexa skill to wake it up and now I just say "Alexa, turn on Plex" and it wakes right up and is available to my Roku to stream my movie and music collection. The performance on it is great and I could not be happier. This little guy would be a great starter PC for someone that does not need to game top-tier titles or as a basic computer for school. Highly recommend this computer and this refurbisher!
