Watermelon Slicers with Silicone Grip, Black (Set of 2)

I am a big fan of watermelon and thought this might be useful but the pluses (even slices of watermelon) are far outweighed by the negatives:1) it is big and takes up a LOT of room in a kitchen drawer2) I have never had this much 'extra' room in a kitchen drawer3) After the first or second use I tossed the slicer in the catch-all drawer. When I pulled it out, the slicer was bent all out of shape. I got some pliers and straightened it out but my guess is that i will not be able to straighten it indefinitely.4) the kitchen drawer is on the coast and after 2 weeks of being in the drawer the slicer has started to rust.I'll keep it for now ... but I doubt it will last until next summer and I won't replace it.

I got this as a birthday gift for my mom. I told her she could give away or sell the second one because I didn't need it, but she liked it so much that she decided to keep both for herself. She keeps one at the house, and the second one she keeps at our lake cabin to use there. Anyway, she loves it and it is super easy to use, would recommend this to anyone who likes watermelon.

Works like a charm! Was surprised to receive 2-for-1 in the box, but it sure does make pretty slices of the fruit.

Once you get the hang of it this is the greatest tool, but watch because it is sharp.

These slicers are nice for cutting watermelon for a fruit salad or for slices that you are going to eat right away. If you store the slices you will need to drain the juices. It slices easily, but is a little messy. I found that putting the watermelon on a slipguard helped. The slices come out easily and there is very little waste. My slicers have red, easy-to-grip handles. They look sharp, but are very safe even for kids to use. They are dishwasher safe and clean up nicely. We eat watermelon every day when it is in season, so we will really use these slicers. The other night we even used them for cantaloupe. They will be easily stored aw,ay n the box when melons aren't in season. This product was purchased at a discounted rate for an honest and unbiased review.
