The Tastywood knife strip utilizes very strong neodymium magnets, embedded and concealed within furniture grade hardwood. The result is a great looking product that provides a great solution for those who would like to free up counter top space that is typically taken by the traditional knife block. Using routed keyholes, the magnetic knife strip mounts to the wall from the backside. When installed, the mounting hardware is completely concealed. Hardware, template and instructions are included with purchase.

Personal Customer Service
I initially was shipped a product with a pretty obvious manufacturing defect. I rated it here one star and returned it (yay, Amazon Prime!). I got back a personal email from Sam, the owner of Tastywood, apologizing sincerely and explaining the cause of the defect, and that he would not only honor my refund, but ship me a replacement at no cost. That replacement just arrived today and took about 5 minutes to install in my kitchen, and it looks very nice. It's exactly as described and pictured, and the Walnut gives it a really nice, high-quality look that the more common bamboo or metal strips just don't quite have. But mostly I just wanted to thank Sam for being a human being on the other end of an Amazon transaction, and going above and beyond to make me a happy customer. Buy stuff from Sam, folks. He's a real guy and not some nameless corporation shipping stuff from Asia.

Beautiful, well made, and strong hold...a great knife holder!
I love this knife holder...I had purchased a different one that I returned because I wasn't happy with the magnetic hold across the strip, it was strong some places and much weaker in others. Even though this one is also multiple magnets the hold is exceptional from end to end...holding even my heaviest of knives anywhere on the strip. The wood looks fantastic and the dark color is a great match to my cabinets. This is one beautiful addition to my kitchen and something I've been wanting for some time. I didn't want to drill into my tile back splash,so to mount it on the wall I got some "extreme" double sided tape, cleaned both surfaces well and it is holding really, really well. It's been up for almost 2 weeks and it doesn't budge when I take a knife off. I could not be happier with my purchase...this is a beautifully made product.

It was easy to install
Was looking for a magnetic knife strip for a very expensive heavy knife I received as a gift. After reading the reviews I purchased this one. It fits perfectly in the 12" space we have and has very strong magnets. No chance of my knife slipping. It was easy to install, came with a template and screws. It took my husband about 30 mins to hang. It holds 5-6 knives with enough space between to keep them from touching. I absolutely love it.

I do very much recommend this style of knife storage if you can swing ...
The knife strip is attractive and decent in quality. Helpfully, it includes a template to help place the screws in the wall before drilling. I did have some issues getting the strip to lay flat on the wall, even with careful adjustment of the screws, but it doesn't negatively effect the utility of the knife strip besides causing some wobble. Some smaller knives may rotate when stored on this (or probably any knife strip). Of course, any other magnetic and lightweight utensils may be stored as well. I keep 2 8" chef's knives with 2 smaller knives and 4 stainless steel spatulas and spoons on one knife strip, but it is quite crowded.I do very much recommend this style of knife storage if you can swing it as it is more versatile, takes up less counter space, and is easier to access than a knife block and less likely to dull your knives or accidentally cut your hands than storing them in a drawer.

Tiny but mighty! Looks like nice wood.
OMG the magnet is strong. It looks so dainty that my contractor had the same reaction I did. He said "are you sure it will hold knives," when he picked it up and looked at it. I said nothing and let him grab a knife from my block and "bam" it smacked to the strip. It was funny to see a big man amazed at the strength of the magnet. It will be built into my back splash next week!

It's perfect for my kitchen!!!
I love my knife holder. I'm a chef and my knives are my most important tools. I hate throwing them in drawers or having then sit in an ugly knife block. Showing them off with the walnut in the back ground is perfect. One thing I noticed though was that there is a bump in the wood I'm guessing where a bolt or something for the magnet is. But I'm content and happy with it anyways!!!

Won't slip, won't rust
Beautiful, and its VERY strong magnet works like a charm. Knives are not going to slip off. Also, I live on the ocean and salt is eventually a problem for anything metallic. Having the metallic parts enclosed in a very exact and tight wooden case should completely eliminate future rust problems. Totally satisfied.

Way better than ikea, great price
I bought two of these to hold sewing shears, snips, and seam rippers. These were easy to install and look far better than most knife strips. They are more consistently magnetized than the ikea version I had been using previously, so they hold more items and I don't run the risk of my scissors dropping to the floor if I try to attach them in a weak spot, as frequently happened with the ikea version.
