Looked great with my renaissance faire costume!

Was exactly as described but nicer quality than expected

By itself, this headpiece isn't something I would wear. The faux pearl edging is too white, and the tacky, bright "gold" ornaments are ugly, and half of them were sewn on wrong side out. The English hood most commonly associated with Anne Boleyn sat much farther back on the head and was differently shaped. Yikes. BUT--that's not why I bought it, so that's why I'm giving it four stars instead of one. I used it as a base upon which to easily build my floral crown for my Catrina costume for el Dia de los Muertos. For this purpose, it worked perfectly. I was able to simply glue the flowers to the fabric surface, and then sewed the mantilla to the upper back edge. The hard plastic band came down a bit too far and pinched (why I docked it a star), so I cut it off and sanded it back, bringing the mantilla and ribbons forward to cover it. I added a larger, padded headband behind the crown to act as more support so the whole thing didn't tumble off my head, as the flowers were quite a mass. I was very pleased with the result. The headpiece stayed on securely, even when dancing, and still looks perfect. While I can't recommend this product as an Elizabethan costume piece as-is, it's a great base for embellishment.

It's decent for a Halloween costume or a fun accessory. It's basically a comfortable decorated headband. It's comfy even on a larger head (XL hat size). It's quite sturdy and looks spiffy, if you don't look too closely. It's Not traditional construction for historical costuming, and won't hold up to scrutiny.

One night maybe 2 nights or days of wear before everything starts to fall off. 2 beads have already fallen off in the bag before i opened it as can see. I don’t think this will last very long. Everything adorned on it is plastic and very fake. Costume is it! Nothing more. Since most of the materials used only could have costed no more than 10 bucks, i’d say the price they asking for it, is highway robbery. It’s cute and looks like the photo.

So overall it's not terrible quality, I was expecting felt or otherwise cheap material. It's actually not terrible and while it does have some cheap metal pieces, the actual overall piece is not terrible. However they ship it in a bag and the little details on the top snapped off. This is not a issue with UPS, it is an issue with the way that it is packaged. It is packaged in a plastic bag and then put into a bubble bag. There is no other support for it so naturally all of the pieces that hang over get snapped off or otherwise distorted. It looks really weird and wonky. The metal applique things are very cheap so if you try to push it back into place, more of itjust snaps off. Just trying to get the pearl like beads on the top to stand in the same direction resulted in two of them snapping off just literally touching it. They are not anchored in by anything other than hot glue. It's just a bead on a piece of wire with no stopper or attachment point except for the hot glue. There is a lot, and I mean a lot, of visible hot glue holding the back pieces on.It is by no means horrible. It does have good construction and some of the pieces on the front are relative good quality for the price. For the price it's not bad that's why I gave it three stars. But if You fell in love with it because of anything that is over the size of the actual backing itself, pick something else because it's going to break in shipping. There's no direct way to contact the company, so you're just kind of SOL. I personally bought it for the silhouette of the top with the piece of standing up so my entire plan is now kind of ruined with it as what is left of those pieces are warped and bent

Very well made

This is a lovely French hood. It fits well and is sturdy. It stands up well on one's head. Many of the embellishments look a little cheap up close, but, of course, no one gets that close. For a Catherine of Aragon or Anne Boleyn costume, it's perfect.
