Great game it really is best if three ppl play but its really fun to play and honestly is addictive once you figure out the basics i thought it would be dumb but got slapped in the face with how fun it is…BUY THIS GAME trust me

First of all, this is such a fun game if you’ve never played it before- easy to understand, and just the right balance of luck and strategy. We played it so often on a ‘staycation’ with friends that we bought it a month or two later. The pieces are the quality you’d expect from any mainstream board game, nothing that necessarily stands out, but the characters are an especially fun element in terms of design. I definitely recommend purchasing this used-like-new if the option is available- it arrived in perfect condition. The only thing I would add is that it might be helpful to sanitize it or wipe it down if you’re concerned about the cleanliness of the individuals who originally bought the game.

Nice game for a small group, good graphics, competitive play.

My son (10yo) and I (not telling!) have played multiple games every night since it arrived. It has the familiarity of Yahtzee, with some of the same decision making based on dice throw probabilities without locking you into specific patterns like straights or full houses, while the cards bring in a dynamic element that's made every game different from the one before. The graphics are just plain fun, and all the pieces feel solid and well crafted for what they are. I love that the score keeping is incorporated into the character cards, and the game play is balanced and quick, with most or our games ending in about 10-20 minutes. We're tied on number of games won, which is rare for us, but he picked up the concepts very quickly. My only minor complaint is that the graphics chosen for the little round markers are a bit TOO small for me, I need my reading glasses to make them out. I wish they'd gone for colors or some kind of chunky emoticon imagery there.

I have heard good things about this game for many years. With an upcoming overnight party on my schedule, I finally decided to break down and purchase this game with the intent of playing it during that we hours of the morning with high school students. While I was at it I also picked up the expansion to go with it and add one more character to the mix. Big game did not disappoint. It was a lot of fun to play and had good artwork and comical text on the playing cards. That game could be taught in just a couple of minutes due to the familiar Yatzee dice mechanics that are the bulk of the gameplay. We played with a full complement of players and our games took approximately 40 minutes each. I believe this was a bit longer than what I will experience in the future because we were just learning it that evening. The only job back to this game is that it does feature player illumination and this is almost certainly bound to happen. So when people were illuminated from the game, they tended to drift away and get involved in other things rather than watch the completion of the game. I tend to avoid games that feature player illumination as that as my Spohn for those people been with a game where they can still interact right up until the end. I think there is a good possibility of young players getting angry or frustrated if they are illuminated from play so I would not recommend playing this with very young children. If you are playing with kids ages 12 or up, however, I think this game would really shine and most settings.

This game is now in the top 3 requested games on family board game night. It is best for pre teen or older kids lots of fun.

Really fun game with good flavor. It just seems really well balanced and in my experience very well received by most people. Easy to understand but game play doesn't feel shallow. Has what I consider a good mix of random and strategy where you make decisions to try to skew thing in your favor based on what you are randomly presented with. You still make decisions that matter but the game isn't anywhere near a straight contest of skill. A veteran/adult could technically have a significant advantage against the first game of an unadvised beginner/child but the learner curve is very low and the gap should vanish reasonably well (and possibly in less than a game for an adult). It's also extremely easy to give beginners minors tips as you go (e.g. that buyable card is strong) in a way that doesn't diminish their participation or make their first game feel like a learning tutorial. It feels like it has a good game length too, enough time to build up your character some but not drawn out too long if someone gets knocked out early. It's quick enough to reasonable play a couple games in a sitting too so someone just doesn't get stuck with a single game of bad luck for the evening. Also the king of the hill targeting rules make it hard to gang up on anyone who doesn't want to be which is always nice for the style of game. You can still get opportunities to prod at individuals in limited ways outside that targeting so you don't feel overly restricted by it either. I have only played with the Power Up expansion included technically. It does effect the game play a decent amount and it's hard to mentally predict some of the nuanced changes but I can't imagine it is necessary to make this game as great as it is.

Really great game to play with your friends and family. It has just the right amount of luck, tactics and complexity to be enjoyed by anyone. The more players the more fun the game!

A fun and easy game to learn and explain. This game is great, with very little complications. This game is great for 4-6 people, you can play with 2 or 3, but playing with 2 players is just unrealistic for either players having a chance to win if one is in Tokyo. Everyone i've played this with has enjoyed it. It's great fro partys and get togethers, or just playing with family at home. I'd suggest this to anyone with a family that they play games often with, and to young adults who enjoy victory point based games with chance. Overall I am enjoying this game, and I hope you give it a go!
