Went in it when I would send her to bed a night and even in the day time we left the door open and she would go in whenever she didn’t want to be bothered. It’s just not toddler proof sadly. My son started loosing screws. A few on the top and on the door. So at some points we just decided to get rid of it since it became too unstable and dog could easily push the door open with a few nudges. Originally sometime in 2021: Easyish to build. I normally wait for my husband to assemble things for me but I gave it a try. The delivery was awesome. I live on the second floor so I was already expecting to find it on the bottom of the stairs and very much banged up, since I saw that it said it weighed 65lbs. But I found it right infront of my door box still intact to damages to it, which was a really great and nice surprise. Everything was nicely packed and protected. A very snug fit inside the box with multiple layers of protection in between. The only little defects I found were a few scratches on the panel that goes on the bottom so no biggy for me since no one is going to see it(and I won’t either). It was nice when I released I wouldn’t be needing any tools to put it together. It comes with some plastic screws, which did through me off. And didn’t seem too sturdy as I was putting it together which made me worry a bit at first. And to bottom panel didn’t seam to be the right fit ( but no issue so far with that). The top is about the only thing I really struggled with. I read a few reviews about bad alignment. But i just had to really make sure both stick things in the middle were in the right place at the same time before I tried to put the screw things on and before I worried about alignment issues. Eventually it all came together. Once you get the top on it really gets more sturdier. Only took me about an hour or so.. 1.5at most. Her bed is 3ft by 2ft. If you see in the pics it doesn’t quite fit with wise but we just shoved it in there so it works for now . Took a while for my dog to get use to it but after a few hours it seams like she can stay in and nap.. we literally just got it this morning so I have to wait and see how she really likes it (if she can stay the night) and how well it’ll work for her as she grows but I’m hoping this is our last and final crate/ bed for her. Long story short it was an easy build with a small struggle at the end. I love how the finished product looks. Price was great compared to other places I was looking at. I thought I might of over did the size (xl)but I know my husky will grow into it since it doesn’t seam to huge on the inside. Just have to find the perfect spot for it in my apartment. She does whatever she can to break out of cages. I have two other dogs that are cool as a cucumber but she refuses to stay in. Panting the entire time drooling and ramming into the door. This is a very cheap plastic cage she destroyed it within a week. My animals love their crates & they don't try to get out so I have no issue with the bars' strength or lack there of. They seem reasonably solid& I'm very happy with the crate. **Q: how wide are the slats on the door i have a 3lb puppy and want to make sure she can't get out through the door** A: Just grabbed my tape measure and checked - the bars have a 1 1/2 inch space between them. CORRECTION IS MADE CHEAP *by F***L on May 9, 2017* This crate appears to sacrifice quality for aesthetics. The bars are claimed that they are metal but unlike nearly every crate on the market appear to not be solid metal (they are hollow). The crate walls, floor, and top all appear to be made out of cheap plastic and feel flimsy when assembling. The thumb screws (what holds it all together) are made of plastic as well and I do not see that holding up well at all even to a 25lb dog. So far I am not completely happy with this purchase but I will give it some time with my dog and see if it works out better than expected. Just received this item today 5/9/17 and will update as time goes on. UPDATE: If I could give this thing less than one star I would. I came home tonight to find my dog running free in the house free to use the restroom in one of our bedrooms on the floor and eat anything she could find. When I said everything felt flimsy during assembly I was very very right. The dog managed to completely break off the side of the door that latches along with one of the bars. The corner of the door panels are glued together with very thin plastic cases now that I can see it apart and how its made. This is a horrible design and frankly will fail with any dog that weighs more than 20 lbs and possibly any smaller dogs that like to chew. Mine didn't chew it she just broke it apart but I could see a chewer making it through the parts that hold it all together within minutes. This thing lasted us about three months.
