Q: How many filters and brushes does it come with? I need a mat to prevent splashing on my floor, but it neither seem to be included.

The water dish does not come with a mat but that is simple. Just a small rubber mat is all you need and you can get it in a dollar store or order it on line. The dish comes with one white water filter and one sponge filter. If you look at the added things under your dish you will see extra’s can be ordered at the same time. It works great!!

Q: Where can I get a replacement for the black sponge piece?

Try the Home Depot mesh section, I found multiple replacement options in a larger format for cheaper cost, and when I feel it’s too bad for my fur babies I just cut another chunk! Also hobby lobby if you’re looking for a finer mesh.

Q: is it adjustable for water flow?

Yes, you can adjust the nozzle so the arc from the spout is higher or lower depending on your cat's preference. I keep mine relatively low because my cats seem to be a triffle intimidated by the higher arc. :-)

Q: Does the water run continuously or does it automatically shut off after a while?

The water continuously runs. You have to unplug it to turn it off. But it is really quiet. You can’t even tell it’s on.
