SharkBite U050LFA Reducing Coupling 1/4 Inch x 1/2 Inch RT LF, Push-to-Connect, PEX, Copper, CPVC

These seem to work well, I bought 3 of them. However one had a problem. The shark teeth would scar the surface of the PEX as the PEX was inserted and the result was a leak. The release mechanism is too short and is hard to use. Ultimately to get it to seal, I pushed in on the release while a 2nd person slid the PEX in. Only then did it not scar, or at least the scaring was less so it did not leak.

Anyone can be a plumber thanks to shark bite. Ever since I started using shark bite, I can sleep soundly at night !

This is a easy and sturdy fitting to make the transition from 1/2 PEX to 3/8 PEX tubing.

I wouldn't want to do a whole house with these as they are pricey, but they sure work for emergencies and also for hard to solder copper pipe. Works extremely well with pex as well

Sharkbite is the only thing I use to repair. Its fast and and reduces my stress when repairing. They always work without leaks.
