There’s no cover for this fondue pot however there’s an insert that sits around the rim to hold your skewers.

Why is there a warning on the product to not use with an extension cord?

Because if the extension cord hangs over the table and onto the floor (or not) it is easier to accidentally trip over it/catch it and often fondue pots are used with heated oil in them ........."someone coulda getta hurt real baaad"........

How durable is the non-stick lining?

I have used it one and no damaged has occurred
