You wouldn't think finding a FUquiING toaster would require such due diligence and research...after finding this toaster, I was thrilled to find it was the REAL DEAL!!The slot LENGTH is a generous 5 1/2"...ALL the other toasters I searched are 5 1/4" slot LENGTH...WIDTH was never an issue. NONE of my regular store-bought loaves (Orowheat, Roman Meal, Prairie Harvest, etc. Wouldn't fit in the 5 1/4" length slot)This one works like a dream! Great design (looks almost like my old Buick!), looks retro, simple operation and controls,...even toasting and heat distribution, BEST TOAST EVER!People that complain about this toaster (or any other appliance for that matter), appliances aren't made the way they used to be, and you need to have a little mechanical finesse and understanding of how things work.You'd think something as simple as a toaster would be straight forward...It isn't!So many toasters have been over-designed...too many settings, crappy mechanics and electrics...for the love of God, I just need toast!! The way bad reviews on THIS toaster seemed to be consistent with the same issues...not ejecting (popping up), not done enough, whatever...all seem (from what I've read) to be operator issues. I've had to "tweak" numerous new appliances to work correctly...a little bend on the sheet metal here or there, the catches/releases for switches, etc., but most folks wouldn't know to do these things. You SHOULD expect an appliance to work FLAWLESSLY, out of the box, for many years...those days are long gone my friends.Although, this may be an exception...Toasters by nature, are WAY cheap constructs for the single, sacred purpose of toasting bread slices evenly, on both sides, for your culinary pleasure...this ULTREAN toaster works PERFECTLY!It was a return (no instruction booklet, registration card, cord unraveled, damaged box, etc.,) but it looked GREAT, no damage, and toasted all my bread, muffins, and bagels to perfection! It's a great appliance for the single intent it was meant for... toasting bread!

I really wanted to love this toaster, especially because it looked really classy and clean. In the time that I have purchased it I’ve only used it a few times and have only ever used bread. The first time I used it it had this weird smell, and I thought it would just go away with use but in the few times that I continued to use it, it smelled burnt and the smell does not go away.UPDATE: the Ultrean support team reached out to me after my review and we’re kind enough to replace my old toaster. I’ve been using it for weeks and it works great! No burnt smell! Love it !

I didn't know what to expect, but I have been very happy with this toaster. If takes some fine tuning to figure out the right setting for various types of bread. Would buy again.

This toaster is nice looking, and it's easily adjustable to any degree of darkness or lightness you want. It has a bagel setting, which is nice because you won't burn the seeds or whatever is on the surface of your bagel.But it does have one flaw which makes it very annoying for me. I don't know what they are called, but the metal prong-like things inside each slot where you put your bread are very narrow, and there is a fairly large space on each side of these. This means if you are using thin bread- like German health bread or one of the thinly sliced breads- it is easy for that bread to fall off the metal prongs into the side of the prongs. From there it's very difficult to get it out. I have had to unplug the toaster and try to fish it out with a knife, or turn it upside down and shake it out. Many times the bread falls apart when doing this but I have no choice.UPDATE: The company reached out and offered me a replacement or refund. They acted on my choice very promptly with no requirement for this update. But I wanted to say their customer service is excellent. And to reiterate-- the toaster works very well, it just requires extra care if you are toasting very thin slices or very fragile slices that might fall apart.

I was initially going to purchase the Smeg toaster, but found this one and decided to go with a "cheaper" item because it is matte. I am really pleased with it. It works well and it looks very good next to my beige Nespresso and Kitchenaid mixer. I usually get more high-end things, but this is one of those rare times I am perfectly pleased with a less expensive option.

Got this toaster to replace an excellent but counter-hogging toaster oven. New one is attractive, easy to use and I’m using it almost daily - a lot more often than the old one! And it easily handles bagels and English muffins.

its a great lil toaster. the buttons are durable & it fits bagels as well, no probs there.

Estéticamente es un tostador muy bonito, sin embargo, no le funciona el mecanismo que saca el pan. No de manera automática al terminar el tiempo, ni con el botón de cancelar. Para poder sacar el pan, se tuvo que desconectar el dispositivo de la fuente de luz.Es una pena.
