Brewing Good Coffee Organic, Light Roast, Ethiopia, Sidamo, Small Batch, Whole Bean, Arabica, Fair Trade, Fresh Roasted

First let me say that I am *very* picky about coffee. I usually order direct from a roaster who ships within 24 hours of roasting, and I expect my coffee to be fresh. When I ran out last time and needed coffee immediately, I came to Amazon-- not expecting anything good, but willing to settle for less for a couple of days until my regular order arrived. Well, let me tell you that I was nothing less than amazed and delighted when I tasted this coffee. I have tried many coffees on Amazon and I have never been satisfied with any of them-- they all tasted stale to me. This coffee is different!! I am not overstating the case when I say that it is THE BEST coffee that I've ever tried from Amazon, and possibly even the best coffee ever! It was extremely fresh and delicious, with all of the rich, complex attributes that one expects from good Ethiopian Sidamo (my favorite coffee).The company told me that they ship to Amazon every two weeks, so I do not know at what point in the two week period my coffee came to me. It's possible that I lucked out and got my coffee right after it was roasted; it certainly tasted that way. There was lots of foam on the top in my French press when I made it, another sign of freshness. When I run out of this bag, I can't wait to order directly from their web site- this will be even fresher, since their facility is close to me in MD (I live in Northern VA).And the big kicker is... the company donates a percentage of profits to animal rights charity!! It's almost too good to be true. As a 20+ year vegan and animal rights activist, I've never even seen a coffee company dedicated to animal rights... and here is one whose coffee is amongst the best I've ever tasted?! And their facility is local to me!! It's a dream come true!!Incidentally, this is by far the most enthusiastic, positive review I have ever written on Amazon. I don't give 5 stars lightly. This coffee deserves them!!

This coffee smells amazing and tastes very smooth. It is a little milder in flavor than I am use to, but it is still very nice.I have made it with a French press and also a Moka pot. I prefer it made with the Moka pot which makes sense as it is espresso blend. I normally enjoy my Moka pot espresso-like drinks in lattes, but this was smooth enough to drink plain. I felt the flavor was weaker than I prefer in the French press, but perfect in the Moka pot. I think with a little tweaking it will be nicer in the French press as well, perhaps I need to grind the beans just a little finer?I like that it is fair trade and that the company supports animal rescue.I received a free sample of this coffee to review. All opinions and experiences described are my own.

I met these folks in Baltimore a couple years ago and they are such nice people. Started buying their coffee for myself and friends. Highly recommend it! Great variety and consistent good quality coffee. Did I mention how nice the owners are?

This is in the "Top 5" best coffees I have ever had the pleasure of drinking...I only drink my coffee black so that I can enjoy the true favors and subtle after taste...a very light and airy smell and flavor...a true dreamy feel and nice soft caffein buzz...! Buy this, "I COMMAND YOU"!

Make it in a chemex (pour over) with a medium-fine grind. Drink it black. Very smooth and flavorful. I only drink 1 or 2 small cups of coffee a day so I like the smaller size of the bag (so it's still fairly fresh by the time I finish it). When I buy a full pound of coffee it's definitely a bit stale towards the end (and I store in an airtight jar).

I don't actually remember much about this roast. Clearly I enjoyed it at last a little. So, maybe buy it for guests you like but don't love.

Smelled and tasted great! Will order again.
