Great Atlas Concept
What a great idea to map a city using “BIG DATA”! I wish other governments were as generous with data they collect. As a Canadian, we have just dealt with a government that didn't believe in information driven policy. Hopefully, our new government will be more flexible?

How We're Doing (the good and the bad for citizens)
This is possibly the most intriguing book of London that I've even encountered. Because unlike typical guidebooks that reveals the sites of the intriguing capital city, with London: Information Capital we are presented with maps of various and highly diverse designs detailing such matters as 'Mini Cab Corridors' (tracking cab routes), 'What's To Eat' (options...),'Top Crimes' (crimes by area), 'Shop Window' (how supermarkets fragment the city)... Actually, one has to have the book in one's hands and flip through the pages to get a real sense of the diversity and - well - uniqueness of the information contained within it. There are 5 key chapters: Where We Are (what we talk about when we talk about London), Who We Are (why it's worth knowing who we are), Where We Go (about commuting), How We're Doing (the good and the bad for citizens), What We Like (football tribes, cities that have copied the London Eye...that big, now-iconic ferris wheel, who's looking for love online...).Though a real curiosity piece for anyone with an interest in London, the contents will be of particular interest to locals, especially those who drive, bike or jog... or vote or shop...or simply want to know more about the fabulous city in which they live. For the rest of us - especially those familiar with at least the city centre and with a rough sense of the layout of the metropolis - it offer a truly fascinated insight from so many hereto unconsidered matters of interest.A sensational book. A labour of love. And for those who love London enough to buy beyond the typical travel guide.

What a great way to while away your time
What a great way to while away your time. The items include some amusing deliveries, some surprising and some simply beautiful to gaze at. This book gives me a yet deeper insight into my favourite capital city. I marvel at the high availability of source information and the brilliant way this information has been organised and delivered in this beautifully-produced book. Leafing through this and studying it is so much more enjoyable than peering on-screen. A tremendous bit of teamwork, congratulations to both the authors and thanks to the publisher.Part two next year please...?
